NAB Show New York, an annual agora for broadcast technology, will be back at the Javits Center Oct. 22-23. This year's program is split between Oct. 22's Business of Broadcast and Media and the next day's theme of Future of Content. Both are remarkably timely, given the current turmoil around media ownership and broadcast-sports rights this year. Here's an overview of what will be on exhibit.
Calrec True Control
Calrec (Booth 544) will showcase its interconnected suite of products for live broadcast-audio production: an ecosystem featuring the 36-fader Argo M (with integrated DSP), 36-fader Argo S, the versatile Type R mixing system, and the powerful ImPulse processing core - all seamlessly controlled via Calrec's True Control 2.0. Together, these solutions give broadcasters the tools to unlock next-generation workflows that are cost-efficient, flexible, and future-ready.
Clear-Com (Booth 625) will spotlight the FreeSpeak Icon beltpack, new features of Arcadia Central Station, and the company's virtual intercom suite. As productions become increasingly IP-driven and hybrid, Clear-Com is empowering teams with scalable, flexible intercom for both onsite and remote operations.
Dale Pro Audio (Booth 759) will have its customary collection of diverse brands and their experts and consultants on hand to discuss trends in broadcast audio. The brands comprise the Advanced Wireless Group, Sennheiser (showing WMAS RF technology), Voyage Audio (the Spatial Mic), Radio Active Designs, 360 Systems, and Glensound (DarkDawn analog to Dante/AES67 interface).
Lawo HOME Power Core
Lawo (Booth 339) will show its new HOME Audio Shuffler app, which replaces traditional baseband matrices, enabling dynamic audio remapping, stream compilation from multiple sources, and payload customization, supporting large-scale I/O with gain, phase, and delay control - ideal for master-control rooms and complex audio setups. Like all HOME Apps, the HOME Power Core app, a virtualized, microservices-based audio engine, runs on standard COTS servers and supports multiple formats and standards with scalable instance sizes. Lawo's mc consoles now also integrate Waves immersive plug-ins, offering native multichannel processing (5.1.4, 7.1.4, 9.1.4), shared sidechains, and full snapshot recall for streamlined immersive mixing workflows.
Pliant Technologies (Booth 934) will highlight its new CrewCom Digital Audio Network Interface with Dante and AES67. The complementary addition to the CrewCom system is a 32 32 48-kHz I/O device that provides routing and expansion capabilities into and out of a CrewNet infrastructure via EtherCon copper and Dual LC fiber connections. The half-rack device can be powered with either net power over a CrewNet copper connection or via the 48-VDC power supply. Combined with the upcoming release of CrewWare 2.0 software, this new hardware interface will integrate into the CrewNet ecosystem, creating a bridge between CrewCom and other standard digital audio network-based devices.
Riedel Bolero Mini wireless intercom
Riedel (Booth 439) has extended the intercom functionality of its security-focused Virtual SmartPanel (VSP) to desktops and mobile devices, and its SAME (Smart Audio & Mixing Engine) server-based audio platform offers 30+ automated DSP tools for flexible, scalable processing. Debuting in the U.S., the Bolero Mini compact, lightweight wireless intercom solution delivers the same performance as Bolero and is designed specifically for positions that benefit from reduced weight and don't require a screen. Rounding out the lineup at the show will be the DSP-1216HL SmartPanel and StageLink edge.
RTS Intercoms (Booth 639) is showing the latest ODIN firmware, which expands RVON capabilities from 16 to 64 channels with a simple license upgrade, empowering scalable, IP-ready workflows. New ST 2110 features on both the KP-Series and ODIN advance interoperability across broadcast environments, and updated RVON firmware for KP-Series, DBP, and DSPK now supports operation behind NAT-enabled routers for seamless remote integration. Rounding out the lineup will be RTS RVOC (Voice Over Cloud) and the award-winning NOMAD wireless intercom.
Solid State Logic MPL 16-8 Stagebox
Solid State Logic (Booth 644) will introduce a fully native ST 2110 card to its System T platform, delivering high performance across ST 2110, Dante, and hybrid networks. Broadcasters can streamline workflows with integrated support for NMOS discovery and connection management. SSL also will be demonstrating its new MPL 16-8 Dante-enabled Stagebox, which is designed to meet the diverse needs of a range of compact and scalable systems and delivers streamlined audio connectivity for the SSL System T platform. Ideal for budget-conscious applications that still demand SSL's levels of performance, the flexible MPL 16-8 is especially well-suited to System T's TCA-based systems.
Sony UWP-D27 wireless audio package
Sony (Booth 613) will showcase the UWP-D27, a complete wireless audio package for on-camera interviews, live presentations, and other applications. The ECM-V1BMP omni-directional lavalier microphone connects to the UTX-B40 bodypack transmitter. Audio is transmitted wirelessly to the URX-P41D two-channel portable receiver, with wireless pairing between transmitter and receiver. An optional Multi Interface Shoe adaptor simplifies audio sync with compatible Sony cameras, such as the PXW-Z300 camera, debuting at the show.
