Argosy to debut new 4K signal transport technology at BVE

Materials distributor will showcase new UHD BNC connectors and UHD video patch solution for reliable high-quality 4K signal transportation

LONG CRENDON UK, 13 December 2016 - Argosy, a leading international supplier of broadcast cables and infrastructure products, will debut its new UHD/4K cable solution at the BVE exhibition at London's Excel, 28 February - 2 March, 2017 (stand G43).

With the increasing demand for UHD/4K content, broadcasters are ramping up 4K production and upgrading their infrastructure to manage this , said Chris Smeeton, Managing Director, Argosy. We're positioning ourselves at the forefront of 4K provision by offering a solid one-stop 4K solution that guarantees the same high quality signal transportation that our customers have come to expect from us over the past 30 years .

Visitors to BVE will be able to see Argosy's MUDIGSA connectors and its MUDIGSA video patch solution (panel, U-link and patch cord). With these new 4K additions, Argosy is effectively helping its customers to take advantage of 4K technology and future-proofing their fixed or outside broadcast facilities.

With re engineered MUDIGSA connectors for future performance, Argosy's MUDIGSA video patch panels, which are now capable of carrying UHD signals, were originally designed to meet the requirements of HD up to SMPTE 424M (HDTV) and Serial Digital Video (SDV). Its range of jackfields can perform up to 12Ghz in conjunction (with appropriately rated BNCs and cables).

Argosy will also be exhibiting its ATEN range of KVM solutions, which effectively provide broadcasters with instant access to a matrix of PCs from virtually any and every location within a facility via IP. ATEN transmitters attach to multiple PC systems located in a broadcast facility's datacentre's rack room, with the ATEN receiver boxes connected to single or multiple monitors situated at any workstation across the facility, including those in the production studios, edit suites and sound booths. This setup allows users shared access and control via IP from any workstation.

A range of racks, mains distribution units, fibre and Ensemble Design active video gear with a focus on intelligent' technology will also be on Argosy's BVE stand, along with Blackmagic, Datavideo, Teradek and Panasonic equipment.
