Based in Dubai, Shaker will drive SAM's plans to grow revenues in the region

SAM today announces the appointment of Sherif Shaker as Regional Sales Manager, Middle East, effective immediately. Based in the newly opened Dubai office, he will report in to SAM's Managing Director, Middle East, Naresh Subherwal. In his new role, Shaker will be responsible for growing SAM's customer base in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq and Yemen, with a particular emphasis on Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Kuwait.

Shaker brings over a decade of industry experience and joins SAM from Sony Broadcast & Professional Middle East. In his previous role he was responsible for direct and indirect sales to key accounts, managing the channel partners and developing new opportunities and markets.

Commenting on his appointment Shaker said, I'm delighted to join SAM at such pivotal time in the industry and I'm keen to leverage my contacts to help grow the company's presence and business opportunities in the Middle East. Broadcasters in this region face a range of challenges, from the ongoing move to HD to the longer term transition to IP. There's also of course the move to 4K.
