Luke Vidal composed the tune of coverage of ESPN in Rio 2016 El joven compositor espa ol, que triunfa en Hollywood y acaba de ganar dos premios Goya, ha sido elegido para componer la sinton a que utilizar el canal estadounidense en su cobertura de los Juegos Ol mpicos.
Tiene dos Goyas en su haber y su m sica est sorprendiendo en Hollywood. Ahora, el joven compositor espa ol, Lucas Vidal, ha sido elegido por el canal estadounidense ESPN para componer la sinton a que emplear en la cobertura de los Juegos Ol mpicos de R o 2016.
Inspirado por historias de atletas, sus desaf os y triunfos, Vidal compuso el tema junto a De la Parra quien dirigi la grabaci n de la composici n musical, a cargo de la Orquesta Sinf nica de Queensland, de la que la mexicana es directora titular.
ESPN, con una de las mayores audiencias del pa s, es una de las cadenas oficiales de los Juegos Ol mpicos R o 2016 y transmitir m s de 600 horas de cobertura a trav s de sus distintas plataformas a partir del 5 de agosto.
Esta suite musical cuya duraci n completa es de cinco minutos, ser utilizada en la cobertura y producci n de los Juegos para Am rica Latina y Caribe y ser parte fundamental de los esfuerzos de marketing y promoci n del evento. Pr ximamente, el canal estadounidense presentar y difundir , a trav s de sus programas y redes sociales, una serie de piezas centradas en la preparaci n de la pieza musical y, el 5 de agosto, ESPN estrenar un video musical con la participaci n de ambos m sicos explicando el proceso de la composici n y grabaci n del tema.

A pesar de su juventud, Lucas Vidal (Madrid, 1984) cuenta con una s lida trayectoria cinematogr fica con m s de 20 pel culas a sus espaldas entre Hollywood y Europa. Tuvo desde siempre un excepcional talento para la composici n, desarrollando pronto un estilo propio de escritura musical. Estudi en el Berklee College of Music, donde hizo historia al convertirse en el estudiante m s joven en componer y grabar la m sica para un largometraje con una orquesta de 80 m sicos. Tras su graduaci n, se traslad a Nueva York para completar su formaci n musical en la Juilliard School of Music. Actualmente vive entre Madrid y Los ngeles donde ha fundado dos empresas, Mumo y Chroma, junto a su socio y compa ero en
Berklee, Steve Dzialowsly.
En 2012 compuso la banda sonora de The riddle of the Raven with John Cusack and The cold light of day con Bruce Willis y Sigourney Weaver, que le supusieron una nominaci n como Discovery of the Year' en el World Soundtrack Awards. Justo despu s realiz la BSO de la pel cula Fast and Furious 6, un extraordinario xito mundial de taquilla. Sus ltimos trabajos en Espa a han sido la banda sonora de la ltima pel cula de Isabel Coixet, Nobody wants the night (con Juliette Binoche y Gabriel Byrne) y de Fernando Gonz lez Molina, Palm trees in the snow gracias a las cuales gan dos Premios Goya (a mejor canci n junto a Pablo Albor n por Palmeras en la nieve y a la mejor m sica por Nobody wants the night) en la ltima edici n de estos premios.
Por su parte, Alondra de la Parra naci en Nueva York en 1980, mud ndose a los dos a os se muda a Ciudad de M xico, donde inicia sus estudios de piano. Despu s de piano y chelo, estudia composici n en el Centro de Investigaci n y Estudios Musicales (CIEM) de M xico. Ingres con una beca Presser en la Manhattan School of Music de Nueva York, donde obtuvo la Licenciatura en Piano y posteriormente la Maestr a en Direcci n Orquestal.
En el a o 2003 funda la Orquesta Filarm nica de las Am ricas en la ciudad de Nueva York, con el objetivo de promover y difundir las obras de j venes compositores y solistas del continente.
Alondra de la Parra ha dirigido las orquestas m s importantes del mundo y ha sido la primera mujer mexicana en dirigir una orquesta en Nueva York y la primera mujer en dirigir la Orquesta Sinf nica de Queensland, una de las tres m s grandes de Australia y de la que es directora titular desde finales de 2015.
