GoPro Celebrates #GoProGirls Achievements Around the World for International Women's Day

We celebrate the women in our GoPro family year-round for their achievements and overall badassery. Our #GoProGirls are strong, adventurous and push the limits of life. Whether they be our fearless athletes, our camera experts or our helpful recruiters, we couldn't be more proud or honored to call these women, #GoProGirls.

Here's to strong women, may we know them, may we raise them, may we be them!

International Women's Day gives us yet another reason to celebrate women and remind our community that we are still fighting for gender equality. Although much of the world can see the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and how far they have come, let's not forget that there are still countries where progress has slowed and woman are forced to overcome hardships because of their gender. Not cool, world, not cool.

When the clock first hits March 8th in Australia and International Women's Day commences, we are calling on our GoPro family from around the globe to share stories of inspiring #GoProGirls on Instagram. We want to know how these strong women made it to where they are, what are they doing to push the limits and what hardships have they tackled to get here.

@GoProANZ, you're up to bat. We're kicking off #IWD2016 by celebrating Australian #GoProGirl Sjana Elises story. This photojournalist has shown the world what it means to overcome obstacles and make your wildest dreams a sunny reality.

Sjana Elise reminds us to ...tell your parents you love them, forgive, learn [and] watch the sunset

We're passing the torch around the world until it comes to an end on the global @GoPro Instagram and a last word from #GoProGirl Rachel Moorel. Rachel's story of how she came to live on a 43' catamaran is an underdog tale that proves what motivation and determination can accomplish.

Rachel explains, So often we have big life goals or huge dreams that never come to fruition, because we never sit down and believe they can actually happen.

Tune into GoPro Australia's Instagram account at 3:00pm PST on March 7th (it's March 8th, International Women's Day in Oz!) to learn more about this bright #GoProGirl. @GoProANZ will keep the ball rolling around the world by next inviting @GoProJP to the celebration.
