
Major League Baseball (MLB) has named Polymarket as its Official Prediction Market Exchange and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regarding prediction market integrity.
Under the Polymarket partnership, Polymarket and its brokers will receive access to MLB marks and logos for use in their prediction market products, access to official league data from Sportradar (MLB's exclusive global data distributor for prediction markets), and brand exposure across MLB's digital channels and at league events. As part of the agreement, MLB and Polymarket will work together to restrict markets that present integrity risks, including those based on individual pitches, manager decisions and umpire performance. Polymarket will also integrate integrity controls into its US Rulebook, applying them to all of its brokers.
The MOU with the CFTC establishes an information-sharing arrangement between MLB and the commission regarding the integrity of professional baseball and related prediction markets. Shared information will be treated confidentially, and designated representatives from each organization will meet regularly. MLB signed the MOU one year after writing to the CFTC calling for integrity protections in the prediction market space.
While Polymarket holds exclusive Official Partnership rights, MLB says it intends to establish integrity relationships with all other prediction market exchanges offering baseball contracts, requiring them to integrate integrity protections into their individual rulebooks.
