VSN and Spectra Logic joint solution enables users to share, store, catalogue and automate their daily operations, simplifying the management of media assets to suit unique work environments, be it on-premise or in the cloud.
VSN today officially announced that Spectra Logic has completed client certification of its VSNExplorer platform through the Spectra BlackPearl Developer Program. The joint solution, allows organizations in Broadcast and Media industries alike to rely on an end-to-end high-performance solution to manage and track millions of digital assets throughout their lifecycles. With Spectra's BlackPearl Converged Storage System and VSNExplorer platform for Media and Business Process Management (BPM), users can quickly browse, find, catalogue and retrieve their valuable content.
The joint solution provides customers with the ability to reduce overall data management time, complexities and network congestion. It also allows companies to reduce their overall costs by simplifying workflows, automating repetitive tasks and avoiding other extra costs commonly associated with deployment and support of legacy middleware systems. Furthermore, thanks to this new partnership, both companies will now be able to migrate and renew their clients' existing archive systems in a safe and quick way, without interfering with their daily operations.
BlackPearl with VSNExplorer is an ideal fit for data-intensive applications, particularly for customers in Broadcast and Media industries who have pressing needs when managing millions of media files and assets on a daily basis and within time-constrained work environments, said Manuel Escribano, VSN's CTO executive. VSN's flagship product, the VSNExplorer system, allows users to effectively manage their media and business processes -either on-premise or in the cloud- allowing any facility to optimize their efficiency and develop their daily tasks faster. VSNExplorer is an open-ended solution comprised of several optional modules: MAM for overarching enterprise solutions, PAM for production environments, BPM for workflow optimization, Business Intelligence for data and metadata analytics, and Wedit, for low-resolution web video editing in the cloud. These modules allow VSNExplorer to provide clients with an intuitive and reliable platform to speed up processes in production, such as content archival and retrieval, automatic metadata detection for cataloguing purposes, file management, and fast delivery to playout automation software and analysis of content performance anytime anywhere.
Spectra's BlackPearl Converged Storage System solves the problem of costly and complex approaches to digital preservation by combining multiple standard interfaces and storage targets into a simple and affordable solution designed for diverse workflows. It allows data to move seamlessly into an online/nearline disk, tape, private cloud and public cloud storage in a way not previously possible. BlackPearl's hybrid cloud storage model enables users to deploy a multi-tiered storage strategy that optimizes cost efficiency and is easy to manage.
