Deconstruct Minimal from Sonicware

New compact drum machine & sampler announced

The latest instrument from Sonicware sees the company kick off an all-new Deconstruct series with a compact drum machine, sampler and bass synth. Described as a hypnotic groove machine , the Deconstruct Minimal draws inspiration from an array of classics, and as with all of the company's offerings, packs some serious features into its modest footprint.

Built around a 10-track drum machine, the new arrival provides some in-depth yet intuitive editing capabilities, and features a sample-based engine along with synthesis on its BD1 and SD (kick and snare) channels. Users can freely chain together four different parts, and the machine offers a choice of three groove feels: 808, 909 and Minimal Original. Track 10 includes a dedicated loop sampler, while tracks 7-9 can function as additional sampler tracks.

Along with its drum capabilities, the instrument is also equipped with an analogue-modelling bass synth. Equipped with a selection of waveforms, a sub-bass oscillator and a dedicated overdrive, the synth is capable of producing a whole host of classic electronic bass sounds, as well as pushing them into new, modern territory. Finally, the machine includes a collection of onboard effects, including reverb and tape-style delay. The drum track then benefits from its own Isolator effect, which delivers everything from subtle tonal shaping to obvious low-end boosts. a master effects section then includes a DJ-style sweep filter, phaser, distortion, snip loop, and ducking compressor, all of which have been designed as punch-in' effects for live performances.
