Cloud First is a mantra that's emerging loud and clear from the pre-NAB buzz. We couldn't agree more. On Wednesday, April 9 at 10:30 am PT, I am delighted to participate in Wednesday's Keynote panel discussion on cloud editing at the NAB Connected Media World Pavilion, North Hall, booth #N9332.

Connected Media World is a signature destination at NAB - a show within a show, if you will that focuses on the connected consumer experience including IPTV, mobile, social and cloud technologies, devices and content. Sponsored by Cisco, it brings three days of thought leadership to topics related to the transformation of the media and entertainment industry, both in the production process and on the multiple screens on which content is consumed.

In the session titled Is Cloud Editing the Future of Post Production? , I will be joining Bill Roberts of Adobe and David Colantuoni of Avid to discuss what the cloud is doing today to reduce edit time.

The panel is moderated by Academy Award and two-time Emmy award recipient Tom Ohanian, Digital Media Strategy Leader of Cisco, and will survey the latest techniques and solutions for public or private cloud-based video editing and collaboration solutions.

We think it's a given that the cloud will become the de facto medium for transfer, collaboration and editing in the TV production community as most productions become global efforts in finance, management and filming. But perhaps the lingering concerns about the cloud's security, capabilities with high resolution content, integration with existing on-premise resources, or bandwidth issues have made you hold back.

Regardless of where you stand, please join us for an edifying discussion with your peers and thought leaders. You'll emerge with fresh perspectives on what organizations are doing today in speeding up post-production processes. These are not rip and replace stories, but rather some genuinely innovative approaches to blending on-premise systems with the cloud in ways that save time and enable the most important thing to all of us: exceptional creative.
