European leaders in OB install ten EVS XT3 production servers across its fleet of vehicles

NEP Germany and NEP Belgium, formerly known as MPP Mediatec Broadcast and Outside Broadcast respectively, have each invested in five new XT3 live production servers from EVS, the leader in live video technology for broadcast and new media productions. The inclusion of these servers lets us deliver even more industry-leading technology to our clients, explained Christer Palsson, managing director of NEP Germany. Having previously used XT2 and XT3 8ch servers in our fleets for a long time, we know the high-level of speed and reliability we can look forward to with the new XT3 Channel MAX in addition to our existing XFile3 and IPDirector PAM.

NEP Belgium is an OB provider based just outside of Leuven with an extensive fleet of mobile production trucks. The technology deployed in those OBs allows NEP Belgium to work across all kinds of custom productions. As our fleets are used on such a wide variety of productions, we have to make sure we have the most advanced equipment available, said Timo Koch, managing director of NEP Belgium. That's what we see in utilising the XT3's Channel MAX configuration - a state-of-the-art server solution that lets us deliver quality OB facilities.

Both chose to upgrade from XT2 to XT3 servers as it lets them offer clients the highest standard and quality of technology from their OB facilities. Utilising the XT3's Channel MAX configuration allows both NEP Germany and NEP Belgium to benefit from the expanded number of channels per server and additional High Frame Rate camera support (2x - 10x). It enables users to streamline the production process as more Super Motion cameras can be recorded on a single server that's managed by one EVS operator. It also boasts extended bandwidth capabilities for advanced IP file-based workflows in sports and entertainment productions. And this implementation offers simple integration of future technologies including 3G-1080p and UHD/4K.

Both companies will benefit from the server's Dual LSM mode, which allows two operators to work on the same server simultaneously with their own personal settings thanks to the dual multiviewer output provided by the XT3. Both fleets of OB trucks also feature EVS' XFile3 file transfer and archive tool as well as the content management system IPDirector.

The XT3 Channel MAX servers were installed across the service providers' fleets at the beginning of 2016 and will be used throughout multiple upcoming productions.

This deal is part of the larger multi-year contract announced earlier this year between NEP group and EVS.
