On Wednesday, the latest in the SVG College Regional Event Series brought us to Fort Collins, Colorado and the campus of Colorado State University for SVG College: Rocky Mountain. More than 40 attendees from eight area universities and two conference offices networked and shared their strategies at the event held at the new Colorado State Stadium.

The new Colorado State Stadium played host to the latest edition of the SVG College Regional Event Series.

An opening session on best practices in live event production focused on how colleges and conferences decide camera placement, utilize production facilities, and recruit and train students. The conversation was led by Julie Bruhn, Director of Video and Bear Vision at University of Northern Colorado, Eric Danner, Executive Producer, WAC Digital Network at the Western Athletic Conference, and Dennis Trapani, Assistant AD, Creative Services at University of Wyoming.

The event also featured a look at video and graphic design for social media and analyzed the strategies of some attendees in how they target major social media platforms. Cameron Kinchen, Assistant Coordinator of Graphic and Flash Design at Colorado State University and Matt Pucak, Assistant Director of Championships and Social Media at the Western Athletic Conference shared their expertise on the topic.

Attendees were given an in-depth look at RamVision's production facilities and overall strategy that supports its multi-platform content creation strategy. Led by Director of RamVision Benjamin Brune, guests received a tour of the new Colorado State Stadium and RamVision's control room at Moby Arena.

The SVG College Regional Event Series is a recurring series of half-day programs hosted by various schools across the country that have demonstrated a commitment to and investment in live video production. The shows are designed to bring together content creators and production-technology specialists with some of the industry's top technology vendors to discuss best practices for those at all levels of production expertise. Seasoned veterans share their experiences and help guide those looking to dive headfirst into the exciting world of video production in college athletics.
