Nuvias has picked up distribution of Sennheiser's Enterprise Solutions portfolio in a deal covering the UK and Ireland.
Under the terms of the agreement, Nuvias will add personal communications, meeting and online conferencing products from Sennheiser to a portfolio that includes Lifesize and BlueJeans videoconferencing platforms. Nuvias is also Skype for Business and BroadSoft certified.
Steve Harris [pictured left], EVP unified communications at Nuvias, said: Our customers will be interested in adding individual Sennheiser products, such as the headsets, to their existing systems; and we will be bundling Sennheiser solutions with other products in our end-to-end UC range. While headsets, attached with our phones and cloud software, will form a major part of sales, Sennheiser is also an all-round audio innovator and has interesting options for conferencing and video, such as ceiling integrated audio conferencing solutions, which utilise the latest beamforming technology to automatically focus on the voice of the speaker. Products such as these will help our customers build a more professional and sleek conferencing environment.
Jane Craven [pictured right], sales director for Sennheiser UK and Ireland, said: Nuvias is a solutions-led, value-added distributor, with a large, established reseller base across EMEA, which we can now access. We believe they are the ideal choice to help us take advantage of a great number of opportunities that exist in our region. Their drive for growth in the UC market mirrors our own and we are impressed by Nuvias' deep understanding of channel marketing, sales and logistics, as well as their ability to deliver services and support across EMEA.
Training in MEA
Over in the Middle East and Africa, Sennheiser showed its evolution wireless G4 series of wireless mic and in-ear monitoring systems at events in the United Arab Emirates and Kenya. A seminar in Dubai focused on the company's audio for business range, while in Kenya, the event took a more technical approach, with workshops covering all aspects of wireless audio capture.
The event in Dubai [pictured below] was hosed by Sennheiser's UAE distributor Venuetech and was attended by more than 60 systems integrators and consultants. Kai Tossing, portfolio manager for Sennheiser Business Solutions delivered the key presentation, titled Wireless Microphones for System Integration. Tossing outlined the digital workflows for deployment of multi-channel wireless systems in education and corporate applications. In addition to a first look at the newly launched ew G4 solutions, participants saw live demonstrations of Sennheiser's SpeechLine Digital Wireless and Digital 6000 products, with all systems monitored and controlled in a live environment by Sennheiser's core control software, Control Cockpit.
Gerald Stewart, principal - acoustics at Inhabit Group, said: I found the presenters and presentation material very helpful in quelling my endeavours to continually strive to be ahead of my competitors in the current market and would recommend this event to all like-minded consultants in the region.
Ryan Burr, head of technical sales and application engineering, system solutions at Sennheiser Middle East, led the four training sessions in Kenya. He said: The training session was organised by our partner, Audio Visual Engineering, who did an excellent job of promoting the event and attracting over 50 of their customers from verticals as diverse as media and broadcast, education, houses of worship and events companies, all of whom were eager to learn more about our wireless microphones, application-based theory and general best practices.
The presentations he delivered were aimed at both new and existing users of wireless microphones and in-ear monitor systems, including sound engineers, live event professionals, students, apprentices, sales people and AV technicians. Over the course of four sessions, attendees gained the knowledge and insight needed to operate multichannel wireless systems, covering acoustics and electrotechnology, wireless mics and monitoring, antenna technology, microphone technology, frequency management and wireless monitoring.
Isaac Kamau Gachwe, media officer at Ridgeways Baptist Church, said: I like Sennheiser products because of their reliability and durability. The training offered a chance to better understand their products and how best it serves my application.
