Wexford Town will host the Comhaltas Fleadh Cheoil na h ireann 2024 and, as traditional musicians of all ages get set to gather across the town and county from 4th to 11th August, RT is announcing its extensive coverage of what is the largest cultural event on the island. With some 500,000 visitors expected over the ten days of the festival, competing singers, musicians and dancers will gather alongside street performers and big names as the Fleadh comes to Wexford Town for the first time in a quarter of a century.

RT and TG4 are proud to support Comhaltas Fleadh Cheoil na h ireann as official media partners and, in addition to a large-scale national campaign, RT programmes and presenters will be on the ground in Wexford town.

RT Radio 1's The Louise Duffy Show will broadcast live from outside Wexford Arts Centre from 12-1pm. Pop down and be part of the live action from the Roadcaster.

The John Creedon Show will have a special show from 7pm-9pm outside Wexford Arts Centre, with music, special guests and chat, broadcasting live on RT Radio 1.

As well as broadcasts on RT Radio 1 and RT Raidi na Gaeltachta, the RT Concert Orchestra, under conductor David Brophy, will join legendary folk musicians John Mc Intyre, Julie Fowlis, amon Doorley and RT CO Associate Artist Zo Conway, for ire is Alba. Celebrating a shared heritage where Ireland and Scotland meet, traditional and folk styles meet classical music. National Opera House | 9pm | Tickets 40 + 1.50 booking fee.
