Actor, Bonko Khoza, who plays the role of Mqhele on Showmax's hit telenovela, The Wife, has been named actor of the week by Actor Spaces.

Showmax's first telenovela, The Wife, broke Babes Wodumo and Mampitsha's reality TV show, Uthando Lodumo's record for the most first-day views of all time and also broke the Devilsdorp's record for the most hours watched within four days of its launch this week.

IT'S GOD'S GRACE OVER ME' Actor Spaces whose aim is to celebrate excellence in the African film, television, and theatre industry announced the news on their social media channels and tagged Bonko Khoza.

They applauded Khoza for his excellent portrayal of Mqhele on the record-breaking show and for displaying the fundamental rule of enjoying a character.

The platform also celebrated his perfect timing in delivering his dialogue and stated that viewers that have read the books have been raving about his reflection of the character he played.

Readers of The Wife had high expectations before the series premiered on Showmax as they'd already imagined the characters in their minds from the books.

Khoza expressed gratitude for the nod as the leading actor in the hit series on his Instagram account.

Wow. I'm speechless. This is an accolade I've seen been given to my idols and all the amazing actors I look up to.

I see this as yet another expression of God's grace over my life.

I want to share that grace with you and the only way I know how is to give you lo Mqhele enimaziyo.

He also stated that he'd promised himself to be fully immersed in the character when he got the brief and said he's grateful to be able to share his craft with audiences.
