Two Red Digital Cinema Cameras Receive GhostFrame Pro Certification

RED Digital Cinema's RED V-RAPTOR [X] and RED V-RAPTOR XL [X] cameras with the Phantom Track feature are the first cameras to receive GhostFrame Pro Certification from Megapixel.

The certification follows the launch of GhostFrame Pro, Megapixel's Emmy Award-winning technology that enables production teams to capture multiple video feeds within a single production frame. GhostFrame enables multi-camera virtual production with invisible camera-specific content, embedded tracking, and discreet talent cueing giving crews greater creative freedom, while enabling efficiency and preserving a seamless LED experience. The GhostFrame toolset is a feature within Megapixel's HELIOS LED processing platform.

GhostFrame Pro Certification was extended to image capture and created to give productions a clear, dependable path to advanced camera-facing workflows, says Jeremy Hochman, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Megapixel. To receive GhostFrame Pro Certification, a camera system must demonstrate the ability to:

Capture and output 2 or more feeds simultaneously from a single camera body, for the same production frame.

Hold a capture window short enough to keep those feeds cleanly separated at the frame rates submitted.

Capture cleanly at 24p, 30p, 48p, 50p and 60p.

Show 2 or more feeds on a viewfinder or external monitor during operation, for evidence capture.

The RED V-RAPTOR [X] series is designed for demanding virtual production environments, combining a global shutter with a large-format, high-resolution sensor and high-frame-rate capabilities. When enabling the Phantom Track mode, the cameras support the synchronized, camera-facing workflows required for GhostFrame Pro operation in LED volumes.
