Berklee Awards Fenway Neighborhood Improvement Grants to Six Organizations A total of $25,000 will be distributed among the Boston-based nonprofits.

The Berklee Fenway Neighborhood Improvement Grant program will support six Boston-based nonprofits.

Berklee will award six Boston-based nonprofits funding from its annual Fenway Neighborhood Improvement Grant program.

A total of $25,000 will be distributed among the following organizations: Charlesgate Alliance; Fenway Civic Association; Fenway Forward (formerly Fenway CDC); Friends of Ramler Park; Kaji Aso Studio; and Muddy Water Initiative. The grants will support a range of activities, such as free community fitness classes, a restoration and public installation project, the continuation of the Fenway Free Market, and a free Japanese summer festival celebration, among others.

It is an absolute joy to work with these local organizations to provide enriching events and activities in the neighborhoods surrounding Berklee, said Abria Smith, director of city and community engagement at Berklee. We are proud to continue supporting the initiatives that contribute to the strength and vitality of the Fenway community.

Launched in 2023, the program is funded by Berklee and administered through the Community and Government Relations Office as part of the colleges ongoing commitment to the Fenway community. Eligible applicants include nonprofits located in or serving Fenway neighborhoods, as well as individuals or groups fiscally sponsored by a Fenway nonprofit. Projects must:

occur within and enhance the Fenway neighborhood;

be free and publicly accessible; and

provide a public benefit or serve a public need.
