Agile Content strengthens its market leadership with new appointments and expanded OTT technology offeringNuno Ferraz de Carvalho joins as integration with TV CDN specialist Edgeware gathers pace

Barcelona, Spain - Tuesday 9 March 2021 - Agile Content, a leading provider of digital TV and video delivery solutions, has made a significant hire as it strengthens its leadership team. Nuno Ferraz de Carvalho joins from Cisco, where he served as Managing Director of its Global Service Providers division and will become Agile Content's new Chief Commercial Officer.

Being a growing multi-national player in the OTT tech industry, Agile Content is building a strong team and a competitive end-to-end portfolio for telecom and media companies. The appointment is part of the company's sustained period of growth and follows the recently completed acquisition of content processing and video delivery specialist Edgeware. This deal enables the business to better address the everchanging technological needs of the global OTT market, and with Edgeware, bring together a workforce of more than 250 digital video specialists to spearhead OTT innovation and serve over 40 million broadband households in 24 countries.

Nuno Ferraz de Carvalho is a seasoned leader with considerable experience in driving digital innovation, and a particular focus on using the cloud to transform architectures, businesses, and user experiences. He has worked at Cisco since 1998, first as a Telcos Operation Manager, then Country Manager of Portugal, before overseeing its Global Service Providers EMEAR South team from 2014.

Discussing his appointment as Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Ferraz de Carvalho said: The past year has highlighted the importance of OTT TV, and its increasingly prominent position within our media consumption habits, so I'm delighted to be joining Agile Content at such a pivotal time. There's real energy around the business with these new solutions and talent in place and I'm excited to be part of the journey as we look to redefine the OTT technology space.

As well as this hire, Agile Content has appointed Edgeware's Chief Product & Technology Officer, Johan Bolin, to be its new global CTO. Discussing the recent changes to the business, Mr. Bolin said: The joint offering from Agile Content and Edgeware means we have a broader portfolio that can be used to address new opportunities, and we have an expanded R&D budget to fuel innovation.
