Stoke Out Your Creativity With New GoPro Mounts, Accessories and Software
YouTube Tutorial Channel Provides Tips & Tricks for New Products and Key HERO3 Features from Athletes and Experts
SAN MATEO, CALIF. (March 31, 2014)- GoPro, maker of versatile cameras and enabler of some of today's most engaging user-generated content, today announced a collection of accessories and software designed to provide users with new ways to capture more unique shots and easily edit and share video and images. GoPro has also released a series of new tips and tricks videos via its YouTube tutorial page to support the product introductions and help users more quickly understand and adopt the new hardware and software.
GoPro HERO3 and HERO3 users will benefit from a number of new housing and mount options including a matte-finish housing, compact frame and versatile flex mount. The stealth Blackout Housing($49.99) delivers the ultimate in low profile shooting, featuring a non-reflective black matte finish and LCD concealment stickers to ensure low visibility and eliminate light reflections. The new housing is perfect for the sportsman, tactical, professional or any user who wants a covert look for their HERO3 or HERO3. Two additional accessories, Gooseneck and The Frame, are designed for maximum ease of use and greater versatility in shooting. Gooseneck ($19.99) boasts a seven-link flex neck and quick-release base plate for capturing hard to reach shots around corners or underneath objects. The reengineered Frame ($39.99) is the smallest, lightest way to mount the HERO3 and HERO3 camera, featuring full-time access to all camera ports for convenient data offload, live-feed video and charging, an integrated latch to make securing and removing the camera quicker and easier, and a compact mounting design that allows for optimal audio recording.
For more advanced shooting, the Dual HERO System($199.99), coming in spring, will enable HERO3 Black Edition users to record synchronized 2D videos and convert to 3D files using the free GoPro Studio editing software. The Dual HERO System will also allow users to simultaneously capture video with one camera and shoot time-lapse photos with the second. For aquatic adventures like snorkeling and diving, the new Dive Housing for HERO3 and HERO3 ($59.99) is waterproof up to 197 feet (60 meters) and captures maximum image sharpness above and below water. Red and magenta Dive Filters for the new Dive Housing and Dual HERO System will be coming soon.
In addition to augmenting its catalog of hardware accessories, GoPro also released several new software updates to make viewing, editing and sharing videos and images even easier. The free GoPro App, which allows users to control all camera functions remotely, view photos, playback videos and share content via email, text and social platforms, has been updated to a new version to deliver wireless camera software updates to the HERO3 . Improvements to camera software unlock a number of new modes to give HERO3 Black users greater control of capture settings, including new SuperView modes at 1080/60 and 1080/50, as well as new Auto Low Light modes that support higher frame rates. Additionally, new Protune settings offer unprecedented customization options, enabling users to manage color, ISO limit, sharpness and exposure in addition to white balance. HERO3 Silver users will also enjoy a wider field of view in all camera modes with the new software update.
Coming in spring, the GoPro Player is new desktop software for Mac or Windows that will deliver a stutter-free playback solution for footage shot at any resolution, including 2.7K and 4K. GoPro Player will feature playback speed controls for fast or slow motion, plus the ability to play back Time Lapse and Burst Photo sequences, super-smooth and stutter-free. Additionally, GoPro Player will export full-resolution still photos from video for photo prints or easy sharing.
