The acclaimed VFX developer bolsters its award-winning product family with popular professional video editing, content creation, and audio applications.

Boris FX announces the acquisition of Vegas Pro (formerly Sony Vegas), Sound Forge, and Acid Pro from MAGIX Software GmbH. The acquisition brings new AI technology to Boris FX, along with the notable video editing and audio products. The additions further cement Boris FX's commitment to provide artists and teams across media & entertainment, content creation, and music & sound industries with top tools that deliver fast, powerful, and unlimited creative possibilities.

We're thrilled to add Vegas Pro (formerly Sony Vegas), Sound Forge, and Acid Pro to our product family. We look forward to advancing all three with more power behind them, states Boris Yamnitsky, President and Founder of Boris FX. Boris FX Vegas Pro

Video Editing, VFX, and Finishing Boris FX Vegas Pro is available in three editions - Vegas Pro, Vegas Pro Plus, and Vegas Pro Ultimate. Each tier builds on the core editing platform with additional visual effects plugins and professional audio tools. Vegas Pro and Vegas Pro Plus are available with subscription or perpetual licensing. Vegas Pro Ultimate is available as a subscription plan. The 2026 release introduces major new features across the lineup.

I've been creating YouTube videos with Vegas Pro since version 7. Vegas Pro's speedy, intuitive editing workflow features new advanced 2D/3D titling options, support for NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, a newly updated AI model, AI-driven transcription and voice generation tools, and support for the ProRes RAW format.

Continuum Title Pack: The integrated collection of 2D/3D motion graphics and titling tools from Boris FX Continuum's Emmy Award-winning toolset allows users to design, extrude, deform, and animate titles and graphics without leaving Vegas Pro. Includes 70 drag-and-drop presets.

NVIDIA Blackwell GPU Support: The high-performance GPU engine lets users edit high-resolution footage smoothly by accelerating playback, compositing, effects processing, and rendering. Editors working with 4:2:2 footage to retain maximum color fidelity and precision during color grading no longer require software decoding for AVC or HEVC formats.

Enhanced Z-Depth Effect (AI): A new AI-based depth model, trained by Boris FX, delivers more accurate, higher-resolution depth masks and improved foreground/background separation.

Offline Speech-to-Text (AI): Users can now access fully offline voice-over transcription for the first time - no internet connection required, ensuring workflows are secure and private. Offline transcription supports over 100 languages, offers text-based editing and automatic subtitle creation, and provides unlimited transcriptions with multiple model options to balance quality and performance. (Available exclusively with Vegas Pro subscriptions)

Offline Text-to-Speech (AI): Text-to-Speech lets users instantly create realistic voiceovers directly on a PC without needing an internet connection. It supports 9 languages and 54 voices, allows unlimited VO lengths, and features adjustable speed, pitch, and volume controls, saving editors time on rough cuts and projects with frequent script changes (social media ads, product updates, corporate communications, etc.). (Available exclusively with Vegas Pro subscriptions)

ProRes RAW format support: Vegas Pro 2026 is one of the few NLEs on Windows offering native, Apple-certified ProRes RAW support. Users have access to RAW parameter control directly within Vegas Pro (color space, ISO, and white balance).
