KDDI and Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company will release four new models in their Spring 2016 lineup, which includes the Qua phone, the first smartphone from the au original Qua series; the Qua tab tablet; the compact AQUOS SERIE mini model, which can be held in one hand; and the GRATINA 4G, a new 4G LTE mobile phone (flip phone) which features water, dust, and impact resistance.

Furthermore, two new colors will be added to the Xperia (TM) Z5 and BASIO models. Along with the already-available Xperia (TM) Z5, Galaxy A8, and DIGNO rafre, we have prepared a lineup for this Spring that families and students can choose from which ranges from high-spec models to affordable original au models.

The au original Qua series has garnered customer praise as a high-quality, convenient brand by customers wanting high-quality and affordability.

KDDI will offer the Qua phone, the Qua series first smartphone, which comes equipped with reliable and durable features, and the Qua tab tablet, equipped with a WUXGA LCD and original sound functions.

AQUOS SERIE mini is the next compact model in the AQUOS series released in the Spring of 2015. It features a high-spec design that is easy to hold in one hand, a feature garnering appreciation mainly amongst female customers. This AQUOS SERIE mini comes equipped with the high definition, high speed IGZO LCD display, which can now render twice the number of frames as conventional models, providing a clear display and crisp text that is easy to see when viewing fast-moving video or scrolling the screen and achieving a comfortable, smooth response.

KDDI will also release the GRATINA 4G, a 4G LTE mobile phone from the GRATINA series whose 3G mobile phones are used by many customers. While inheriting the features and usage familiar to feature phones, this GRATINA mobile phone has greatly evolved to offer high-speed internet through the support of 4G LTE, high quality VoLTE voice calls, and more.

Also, new colors will be offered for already-available and popular models. Xperia (TM) Z5 will offer a pink that has a soft shine and gently blends into your hands, and BASIO will offer a high-quality red that exudes luxury.

Qua phone The Qua phone is aus new original smartphone that features a slim metallic body with reliable and durable features such as water, dust, and impact resistance. It also features au Basic Home for Qua, which offers simple operation, and au VoLTE support for high-quality voice calls, achieving a comfortable smartphone lifestyle.

Furthermore, by combining with the Qua series Qua tab tablet, you can display the smartphones screen on the tablet and check mail and SNS notifications delivered to the smartphone on the tablet.

Qua tab This tablet features a 10.1-inch WUXGA LCD with stereo speakers and an original acoustic algorithm that focuses on sound quality. This multi media tablet allows you to enjoy realistic content with luxurious image quality and sound, even without the use of headphones. The Qua tab employs a simple design and color that can accommodate any usage style.

With the evolved au Share Link feature, which now supports smartphones and 4G LTE mobile phones (flip phone), you can check new notifications received on your smartphone/flip phone model from the tablet even while the device is charging or it is in your bag, allowing you to more conveniently use your two devices. AQUOS SERIE mini This smartphone has a compact 4.7-inch display that can be held in one hand and comes equipped with a high-capacity 2,810mAh battery. With the LCD Idling Stop and Eco Waza features, you can reliably use this smartphone without worrying about the battery life. This smartphone is also equipped with the high definition, high speed IGZO LCD display, which can render twice the number of frames as conventional models, providing a clear display and crisp text that is easy to see when viewing fast-moving video or scrolling the screen and achieving a comfortable, smooth response.

GRATINA 4G The familiar GRATINA 3G mobile phone has evolved to support 4G LTE.

Along with the easy-to-push buttons familiar to feature phones, the Customize Key feature that allows you to quickly launch frequently used functions, and support for Kyoceras original Sugu Moji and Quick Search features, this new 4G LTE mobile phone is equipped with 4G LTE high-speed data communication, high quality VoLTE voice calls, and a quad core CPU, achieving the easy operability demanded from mobile phones with smartphone-quality specifications.

KDDI will also release various accessories thru its au +1 collection, aus official collection of accessories, that will allow you to more comfortably use your Spring 2016 models. For the AQUOS SERIE mini, flip covers with a mini window will be available that allow you to enjoy a light performance when receiving a call or unlocking the phone and allow you to answer incoming calls, end calls, and operate the camera while the cover is closed. For the Qua phone, book-type cases with a window will be available that allow you to check incoming calls and notifications while closed. Also, a Bluetooth (R) equipped with a touch pad will be available that you can use in combination with the Qua tab.

From January 13, 2016, KDDI will offer an advance exhibition of the Qua phone, Qua tab, and AQUOS SERIE mini along with the new colors of the Xperia (TM) Z5 and BASIO announced today at au SHINJUKU (Shinjuku, Tokyo), au NAGOYA (Sakae, Nagoya), au OSAKA (Umeda, Osaka), and au FUKUOKA (Tenjin, Fukuoka).
