A film adaption of Capcom's long-running video game [VIDEO] series, Monster Hunter, will go into production this September in Cape Town with a budget of $60 million.
It has been confirmed that Milla Jovovich who stars in another Capcom film adaption - the Resident Evil series - will take the lead role in Monster Hunter. Variety reported that Constantin Films, director Paul W. S. Anderson, and producer Jeremy Bold, also behind the Resident Evil film series, will be creating this latest Capcom film adaption.
The film is set to be filmed in Cape Town, South Africa with special effects created by Mr X who is another veteran of the Resident Evil film series.
Monster Hunter: World released on PlayStation 4 [VIDEO] and Xbox One earlier this year back in January. It was met with critical acclaim and became the best-selling Monster Hunter game to date. There are plans to bring it to PC later this year, but no confirmed release date as of yet.
Monster Hunter: World sees you and up to three other friends tacking on fearsome beasts throughout the strange land of the New World. While there is a story' in the game, it has never been the attraction of the series. Instead, players battle things like the mighty flying Rathian to collect materials and craft powerful equipment. As players progress through the game the enemies they face grown in strength, too.

One of the major features of this game is being able to fight Elder Dragons both old and new.
Capcom has continued to support Monster Hunter: World since launching through events and adding new creatures to battle and collect parts from. There are future plans for more events and new creatures to fight. There have been events that include outfits for other iconic Capcom franchises such as Devil May Cry and Street Fighter. There are time-limited, so players need to keep playing the game so they don't miss out on these unique pieces of equipment.
In a recent announcement, Capcom stated that they are bringing Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate to Nintendo Switch later this year. This is a follow up to the 2016 Nintendo 3DS game that has already been released in Japan under the name of XX. It is set to come to Nintendo Switch consoles on 28th August and it will be shown at E3 in June with further details.
