Actor Kope Makgae rises above challenges his film academy faces Generations: The Legacy' actor Kope Tswyza' Makgae opens up about the challenges he faced in creating Wyza Media Studios.

Ho Lekane TV presenter and actor Kope Makgae aka Tswyza, who plays Mrekzaa in Generations: The Legacy launched Limpopo's first film and TV academy Wyza Media Studios in 2020.

KOPE MAKGAE WISHES MORE PARENTS WOULD INVEST IN KID'S FUTURE Generations: The Legacy actor Kope Makgae tells Daily Sun that it hasn't been easy but is happy that young talents have found a home at the film and TV academy Wyza Media Studios.

Kgope adds that he's still self-funded and that Covid did a number on him and he's inherited a lot of debt and couldn't finalise production with his team.

I couldn't help my students as best as I could, but now we are bigger and better.

He also made a promise to his students from the beginning that he will make sure they are well taught.

Everything is coming alright so far and I am happy that we have managed to enroll 25 students for the film and television productions. We want more local disadvantaged youth and sponsorship partners.

HIS ROLE IN HO LEKANE' The rapper and Generations: The Legacy actor Kope Makgae, who also presents Ho Lekane is aimed at resolving family issues relating to money.

Makgae told Drum that black tax presents itself in different ways and the show highlights the frustrations that abo moreki (the providers) go through.

I think a lot of people understand black tax to be one thing, but here we will be showing different sides of it.

I believe that helping your family out after they educated you is a right of passage, provided the family does not abuse the assistance. The problem with money is that some people do not know the limits. I do not think it is about owing your family but paying it forward.

He says the show is not about exposing or portraying black families in a bad light.

I am not for shows that degrade black families. I am about growth, mentorship, and the development of self.
