Zixi Enters Mauritius Market Through Strategic Deployment with MTC Jockey Club

Worlds Oldest Horse Racing Club in the Southern Hemisphere Selects Zixis Software Platform for International Live Racing Distribution

Zixi, a leader in live video delivery and workflow orchestration, today announced its first direct deployment in Mauritius with the MTC Jockey Club (MTCJC), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Mauritius Turf Club, carries forward more than two centuries of racing tradition at the iconic Champ de Mars racecourse in Port Louis. The deployment marks a significant strategic milestone for Zixi as it expands its footprint across the Indian Ocean region.

Founded in 1812, the Mauritius Turf Club is the oldest horse racing club in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the oldest in the world. Headquartered at the iconic Champ de Mars racecourse in Port Louis, MTCJC hosts one race meeting every Saturday during its racing season per year, attracting tens of thousands of spectators and a passionate national following. Horse racing is deeply embedded in Mauritian culture, and the clubs live broadcasts are the most watched sporting events in the country.

The Zixi protocol was not new to the MTC who had been using hardware-based encoders that support Zixi for the past decade.

Following a successful proof-of-concept phase, MTCJC selected Zixis Platform as the foundation for their live contribution and distribution workflows. Key factors driving the decision included:
