RT Sport has an action-packed schedule of live sport still to come this summer and beyond
With the FIFA World Cup and the All-Ireland Senior Men's Championships now concluded, RT Sport is turning its attention to an exciting line-up of live sporting action that promises to keep audiences entertained throughout the rest of the summer across television, radio, podcasts and RT Player.
From world-class athletics and international swimming to elite equestrian events, championship golf, Camogie and European football, RT Sport will continue to deliver the biggest events featuring Ireland's leading athletes and teams.
Athletics
Irish stars will be going for gold at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham from August 10-16. Paul O'Flynn will be alongside Ciara Mageean, Derval O'Rourke, Rob Heffernan and Sonia O'Sullivan in studio with David Gillick reporting from trackside and Greg Allen with Dave Matthews on commentary.
Swimming
At the same time Ireland's swimmers will be chasing international success at the European Swimming Championships in Paris. Ellen Keane, Andrew Bree, Earl McCarthy and Gr inne Murphy will be in studio while John Kenny and Nick O'Hare will be in the French capital calling all the action from the championships.
Hockey
Ireland's men's and women's teams will both be in Belgium for the Hockey World Cup 2026 with the men taking on Australia, South Africa and Spain in Pool C while the Irish women will face Belgium, Spain and New Zealand also in Pool C. Reporting on the coverage will be Chloe Watkins, Gillian Pinder, Graham Shaw and Jonny Bell beginning on 15 August.
Camogie
Sunday, 9 August sees Damian Lawlor present live from Croke Park as the All-Ireland Junior, Intermediate and Senior Camogie Finals take centre stage. Damian will be joined by Ursula Jacob, Anne Marie Hayes and Anna Geary for comprehensive coverage throughout the day.
The action gets underway with the Junior Final between Armagh and Cavan (throw-in 12.00pm), followed by the Intermediate Final as Antrim face Laois (throw-in 2.00pm). The day concludes with the Senior Final, where Cork takes on Galway (throw-in 4.15pm).
Dublin Horse Show
Ruby Walsh presents three days of live coverage from one of Ireland's premier sporting and social occasions. Coverage includes the Nations Cup on Friday, 7 August, the Puissance on Saturday, 8 August, and concludes on Sunday with more top-class international showjumping action.
Ruby will be joined by Gerry Mullins throughout the weekend, alongside Nicola Fitzgibbon and Cameron Hanley on Friday, Jessica Burke on Saturday, and Nicola Fitzgibbon on Sunday.
Soccer
RT Sport will bring viewers live coverage of the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club Orange Men's FAI Cup, as clubs compete for domestic and European honours. Coverage begins on Wednesday 12 August with the UEFA Super Cup meeting of PSG and Aston Villa, followed by the Third Round of the Club Orange Men's FAI Cup as 2025 winners Shamrock Rovers travel to take on St Patrick's Athletic on Sunday 16 August. Attention then turns to the UEFA Champions League Play-Off Round, with live coverage of both the first leg on Wednesday 19 August and the second leg on Wednesday 26 August.
KPMG Women's Irish Open
The iconic K Club in Kildare will play host to the Irish Open from August 27-30 where Leona Maguire will battle for the title with some of the biggest names in women's golf including Charley Hull and defending champion Lottie Woad.
RT Radio 1
Sport remains a key part of RT Radio 1's August schedule, with live coverage of the All-Ireland Ladies Football Finals on Sunday, 2 August, including the Senior Final between Kerry and Galway, and the Camogie All-Ireland Finals with Cork and Galway in the Senior Final on Sunday, 9 August, alongside comprehensive news, analysis and reaction to the biggest sporting stories from Ireland and beyond throughout the month.
Raidi na Gaeltachta
Raidi na Gaeltachta continues its unrivalled coverage of Gaelic games, bringing listeners live commentary and comprehensive reporting from some of the biggest fixtures of the summer, alongside the opening rounds of the club championship season. Coverage begins on Sunday 2 August with the All-Ireland Ladies Football Final between Galway and Kerry from Croke Park. That weekend also marks the start of the Galway Senior and Intermediate Club Football Championships, with extensive coverage of the opening rounds. On Sunday 9 August, Raidi na Gaeltachta will broadcast live from Croke Park for the All-Ireland Camogie Final before turning its attention to the opening weekend of the Donegal Senior and Intermediate Club Football Championships, the Kerry Club Football Championships and the Galway Hurling Championships, with comprehensive coverage from grounds across the county.
As one sporting chapter closes, another begins. RT Sport remains committed to bringing viewers the biggest events, unforgettable moments and the stories that matter, across television, radio, podcasts and RT Player.
