Major League Soccer has inked a three-year deal with Twitter for a slate of weekly programming including weekly live matches, highlights and features. At least 25 matches per season that are broadcast on Univision networks in Spanish will now be available in English on Twitter. The deal marks MLS's departure from Facebook, which streamed weekly games last season.

Beginning this weekend, live matches, produced at Univision's broadcast facility in Miami, will be available in English in the U.S. on Twitter via @UnivisionSports and @MLS. The first MLS match to be streamed on Twitter will feature Real Salt Lake hosting expansion club Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) this Saturday, March 10 at 3:30 p.m. ET. MLS will provide Twitter with a package of live, on-demand content each week and the two companies will also collaborate on innovative executions to support MLS Big Events during the season, according to the league's announcement.

Over the last several years, MLS and Twitter have worked together creating unique content around Big Events including the MLS All-Star Game presented by Target, Heineken Rivalry Week, Decision Day presented by AT&T, and MLS Cup. Twitter will offer advertising packages for the content to be made available to sponsors.
