Argosy Unveils New ULTRA Suite of 12G Products at IBC

Own-brand range of cables, connectors, BNCs, terminal panels and patch panels slot into traditional SDI infrastructure to simplify move to UHD/4K

Argosy, a leading international supplier of infrastructure products, will be launching its new ULTRA range of 12G solutions at IBC (Stand 10.C51, Rai, Amsterdam 15-18 September, 2023). Offering a cost-effective and simple solution for seamless integration, the ULTRA suite makes UHD/4K accessible to those working with traditional SDI workflows.

One of the key advantages of the ULTRA suite is its compatibility with SDI' explains Chris Smeeton, director at Argosy. Unlike fibre, which requires off-site termination and complex threading through existing infrastructures, it empowers users to utilise standard copper cables and connectors that can be effortlessly terminated on-site.

The ULTRA suite provides an end-to-end solution comprising a range of 12G products, including the Image 360 ULTRA, Image 1000 ULTRA , and Image 1500 ULTRA coax cables. Primarily used for in-rack wiring and OB trucks, these UHD SDI Digital Video cables are designed to deliver superior performance for UHD/4K SDI video applications.

Additionally, the suite features the coax KORUS ULTRA HD 12G BNC's, tested to meet the requirements of SMPTE ST 2081-1 & ST 2082-1 at 6G & 12G systems for use with the Argosy Image ULTRA coax cable range. 12G ULTRA Termination and ULTRA Patch panels complete the range.

The ULTRA suite leverages the inherent advantages of copper cabling, boasting exceptional durability and cost-effectiveness. This robust solution thrives even in the harshest of environments, such as touring sports and events productions, as well as permanent broadcast facilities.
