Vizrt teams with RCS to deliver Viz Libero integration for LaunchPad interactive broadcast solution

The integration provides instant on-set access to Viz Libero clips in LaunchPad's touchscreen monitor. See it at NAB 2015 booth SL2417.

Vizrt, a leading provider of production tools for the digital media industry, has joined forces with Reality Check Systems (RCS), a Burbank, California-based broadcast technology developer, to offer customers a tightly integrated, easy-to-deploy workflow between Vizrt's Viz Libero 3D sports analysis software and RCS' LaunchPad touchscreen solution for sports broadcasts. Providing instant on-set access to Viz Libero clips in LaunchPad's touchscreen monitor, the integration allows presenters to engage fans with real-time sports analysis. This makes the game easier to understand through illustrative replays, charts and diagrams that feature captivating graphics and 3D animations.

Set to debut at NAB 2015, the latest version of LaunchPad - now compatible with Viz Libero - gives on-air talent the ability to retrieve real-time sports data from the cloud and bring it to life on-screen. The powerful and portable solution allows this to happen anywhere live production demands. Viz Libero clips and related metadata that are copied to LaunchPad automatically appear in an easy to use touchscreen menu, allowing operators to quickly select a desired clip and control playout. Presenters can also add telestration graphics that maintain the correct perspective of the pitch. This means that when users highlight movement or specific player actions, graphics will always be positioned correctly on the field.

Viz Libero offers a wide range of 3D analysis tools that will bring the sports program to a new dimension, said Stephan W rmlin Stadler, executive vice president of sports for Vizrt. Combining this integration with its newly added automatic player tracking, the Viz Libero system can turnaround analysis clips in seconds and quickly prepare it for a LaunchPad touchscreen session to be presented by an on-screen analyst. LaunchPad is easy to use, very powerful and this combined solution addresses a variety of individual preferences for interactive sports shows.

RCS Launchpad is an affordable and highly intuitive interactive touchscreen solution that simplifies data and video analysis for sports broadcasts and connects fans more closely to the sport. Combining proprietary software with third-party hardware and cloud data from domestic and international soccer matches provided by Opta, the solution boasts a user-friendly interface and is available in a variety of configurations and languages.
