Innovative Prototypen f r h chstm gliche Mobilit t im Alter
Die durchschnittliche Lebenserwartung in Deutschland ist mit rund 80 Jahren so hoch wie nie - und rund doppelt so hoch wie noch vor 200 Jahren. Weil Menschen lter werden, vergr ert sich ebenso das Risiko, dass k rperliche und geistige F higkeiten nachlassen. Gleichzeitig erh ht sich jedoch der Wunsch nach einem selbstbestimmten und mobilen Alltag auch im hohen Alter. Dieser Problemstellung sind in enger Zusammenarbeit mit Schaeffler 41 Masterstudenten am IPEK - Institut f r Produktentwicklung am Karlsruher Institut f r Technologie (KIT) nachgegangen. Ergebnis: Sieben innovative Prototypen f r vielversprechende L sungen zur Alltagsmobilit t im Alter.
Ein Semester lang haben sich die jungen M nner und Frauen, beauftragt durch Dirk Spindler, Leiter Forschung & Entwicklung Schaeffler Industrie und Mitglied der Gesch ftsleitung Schaeffler Industrie, begleitet von Dr. Ralf Stopp, Leiter SHARE am KIT, und geleitet durch Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr.h.c. Albert Albers im Rahmen der Lehrveranstaltung Integrierte Produktententwicklung 2014/15 mit der Thematik besch ftigt. Prof. Albers, ehemals Mitarbeiter bei Schaeffler (LuK), hat diese Lehrveranstaltung entwickelt und f hrt sie seit mehr als 15 Jahren mit wechselnden Themen und Industriepartnern erfolgreich durch. In diesem Jahr war Schaeffler mit der herausfordernden Aufgabenstellung Projektpartner. W hrend der Auftaktveranstaltung im Oktober bei Schaeffler in Schweinfurt durften die angehenden Produktentwickler auch gleich am eigenen Leib erfahren, was es hei t, sich den Herausforderungen des Alters im Bezug auf Mobilit t zu stellen: Spezielle Altersanz ge simulierten eingeschr nkte Bewegungsf higkeit, schlechtes Sehen oder H ren. Zur ck in Karlsruhe f hrten die Studenten anschlie end eine Analyse zu den Anforderungen auf dem Markt und dem Stand der bisherigen Technik durch. Anhand der so ermittelten Bedarfe, beschrieben in Produktprofilen, erarbeiteten sie methodisch und strukturiert konkrete technische Produktideen und erstellten die entsprechenden Konzepte. Mindestens zweimal im Monat traf man sich mit Schaeffler-Mitarbeitern und tauschte sich ber Zwischenergebnisse und Problemstellungen aus. Aus anfangs rund 700 Vorschl gen wurden schlie lich sieben Projekte als Prototypen konstruiert und gebaut. Von gro em Nutzen zur ma geschneiderten Begleitung des Projekts war auch die Campus-Pr senz von Schaeffler durch das SHARE (Schaeffler Hub for Automotive Research in E-Mobility) am KIT.
Die im Projekt entstandenen Prototypen pr sentierten die Studenten am 20. Februar am KIT: Darunter einen Rollator, der sich elektrisch zum Rollstuhl transformiert oder eine Art Trolley, der nicht nur Stauraum bietet, sondern auch als Sitzgelegenheit oder Gehhilfe funktioniert. Ein anderes Rollatormodell erm glicht dank elektrischer Unterst tzung ein sicheres Fahren oder Transportieren von Eink ufen. Die Steuerung des Rollators kann dabei helfen, St rze zu vermeiden und bei Steigungen mit Motoren unterst tzen. An der Kinematik menschlicher Anatomie orientiert sich eine kombinierte Stabilisierungshilfe f r das Knie, die gleichzeitig das Schwungbein beim Gehen unterst tzt.
Der Problematik des St rzens nahm sich ebenfalls ein Team an. Denn die durchschnittliche Liegezeit nach einem Sturz lterer Menschen, die oft nicht mehr in der Lage sind alleine aufzustehen, betr gt statistisch rund vier Stunden - selbst wenn die Senioren unverletzt geblieben sind. Die Studenten haben deshalb ein Sitzkissen entwickelt, das sich nach dem Hinfallen aufbl st. So befinden sich die Senioren in einer g nstigeren Position, um aus eigener Kraft aufstehen zu k nnen.
Ein neuartiges Fahrradkonzept vereint die Vorteile des klassischen Rads mit der erh hten Stabilit t dreir driger Fahrr der: Bremst der Fahrer sein auf den ersten Blick handels bliches Citybike auf eine sehr langsame Geschwindigkeit ab und ben tigt deshalb eine h here Stabilit t, fahren die beiden Hinterr der schr g auf einen Abstand von maximal 20 Zentimetern auseinander, so dass der gew nschte Stabilisierungseffekt eintritt. Tritt der Fahrer wieder st rker in die Pedale, verringert sich der Abstand der beiden Hinterr der automatisch. Das Rad unterscheidet sich optisch dann kaum mehr vom klassischen zweir drigen Fahrrad.
Das siebte Projektteam entwickelte eine mobile Transporthilfe zur berwindung von Treppen. Das kompakte Ger t transportiert Senioren Stufe um Stufe die Treppe hinauf oder hinunter und macht so den Einbau eines teuren Treppenlifts berfl ssig.
Unsere Erwartungen an die Studenten des KIT waren hoch. Schlie lich sollten L sungen gefunden werden, die direkt in unserem Unternehmen weiterverfolgt werden k nnen. Mit ihren innovativen Ideen und deren technischer Umsetzungen von h chster Qualit t haben sie unsere Erwartungen sogar noch bertroffen , lobten Spindler und Stopp die Ergebnisse.
Die hohe Motivation und das erstklassige Engagement der Studierenden und ihrer Betreuer mit konsequenter Anwendung der gelehrten, neuesten Entwicklungsmethoden zeigen, wie eine erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit zwischen Forschung und Lehre einerseits und der industriellen Praxis andererseits zu kreativen Produktideen in bemerkenswert kurzer Zeit f hren k nnen.
Schaeffler ist seit Anfang 2013 mit Mitarbeitern im SHARE am KIT ( Schaeffler Hub for Automotive Research in E-Mobility am Karlsruher Institut f r Technologie ) nach dem Company on Campus -Konzept auf dem KIT-Campus Ost pr sent.
