Autocue Make Teleprompting Software Free

NAB 2013, Stand C3685 Autocue, the home of QTV teleprompters, launches a free teleprompting software application (QStart) at NAB. The software will be available for free download from www.autocue.com.

Previously, QStart was only available when purchasing a Starter Series teleprompter. Now people will be able to download an evaluation version for free, and if they register with Autocue, they'll get additional functionality. There'll also be a paid version, unlocking QStart's full functionality this will still be provided free with Autocue's Starter Series teleprompters.

Aaron Brady, Autocue's Americas MD said, Autocue has been developing prompters since their invention nearly 60 years ago. We're the market leader within the professional broadcast community and we want to bring that expertise to people just starting out.

QStart is able to output the script in reverse for reflection in prompter glass whilst simultaneously displaying the script the right way round for the prompter operator. That means even a simple computer screen can be used as a teleprompter monitor, significantly reducing the cost.

Brady continues, For some, the Starter Series will fulfil all of their needs. Over time, some users will realise that they want more flexibility and functionality. Autocue can offer these users a simple upgrade route through to our class-leading Professional and Master Series teleprompting solutions. QStart works on both Windows and Mac operating systems and allows users to type text directly in to the programme or import pre-prepared scripts from a word or a text file. The text can be formatted like any word document. Markers can also be inserted to quickly jump between different points in the script. Autocue offer a choice of keyboard, hand and foot controls, including and wired and wireless options to control the speed and direction of the scrolling script.
