Story Highlights
NFL fans seeking Spanish-language coverage of Super Bowl LIX are in luck with FOX Deportes and Telemundo Deportes striking the broadest distribution deal in the United States in the game's history. For the latter network, the onsite crew in New Orleans will ship video feeds of the game and studio programming back to Telemundo Center for an at-home production.
We've worked to expand our overall coverage of this game and it's really exciting to have this opportunity, says Joaquin Duro, EVP, sports, Telemundo Deportes. I think it's great for Telemundo, the NFL, and the fans.

Home of the Game: Network Works With FOX Deportes to Bring Broadcast Over the Air A large part of this deal with FOX Deportes is fans having an over-the-air option to watch the biggest football game of the year. To produce this game, Telemundo Deportes' SVP, Content Operations, Chris Suarez-Meyers, and his team will receive a tailored broadcast feed from FOX Sports, a handful of the English-language network's resources, feeds from the halftime show mobile unit, and feeds from Telemundo's unilateral cameras, and send them back to Miami to cut the televised product.
We wanted more of a customized broadcast, and we have a very good relationship with FOX, he says. It was a no-brainer to collaborate with them to make our broadcast more tailored to our audience.
The onsite team is located within the footprint of the FOX Sports broadcast compound outside of Caesars Superdome. When these feeds reach Telemundo Center, the crew back home will put further touches on the final package before it hits the viewers. This includes a refreshed graphics package with a couple of new features that leverage the network's virtual studio. Additionally, the team has a workflow put in place to integrate their own commercials into the broadcast.
We'll either go to our booth or to ISO cameras that we have access to, which is very similar to how we run our Sunday Night Football production, adds Suarez-Meyers. We've been rehearsing this since the Divisional Round, but we'll have all points of coordination with FOX.
From a business point of view, Duro believes that this partnership is beneficial for all parties involved.
This is a deal that the three of us - FOX, Telemundo, and the NFL -discussed with the idea of taking the game to more viewers, he says. Our goal is to grow the sport for not only the Hispanic community, but our overall viewership in the United States.
Fun in the Big Easy: Live Programming in New Orleans Ties Back to Studios in Miami Throughout the week, the network's studio programming lineup has included Noticias with Senior Correspondent Rogelio Mora-Tagle, Hoy D a, En Casa con Telemundo with host Carlos Adyan, and Zona Mixta. On Super Bowl Sunday, the eight-hour-long day will be packed with multiple shows. At 3 p.m. ET, Noticias Telemundo AHORA will begin the schedule with sideline reporter and journalist Julio Vaqueiro. This will be followed up by an extended two-hour pregame special of Camino al Super Bowl at 4 p.m. ET with play-by-play announcer Miguel Gurwitz, analyst Rolando Cant , sideline reporter and journalist Jessica Carrillo, Frederick Oldenburg, and Ver nica Rodr guez. At 6 p.m. ET, Gurwitz, Cant , Vaqueiro, and Carrillo will get set to call the game with kickoff at 6:30 p.m. ET. The night will end with Homenaje al Campe n at 10 p.m. ET.
To thoroughly showcase the full breadth of New Orleans leading up to the game, Telemundo Deportes has deployed their onsite talent to various points in the city. This includes Jackson Square at the mouth of the famous French Quarter, the Super Bowl Experience and Radio Row at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, and in and around the stadium. These spots, along with talent and studio programming emanating from Miami, have casted a wide net on the Big Game. Outside of the hits at the stadium, which are linked back to Telemundo Center through the broadcast compound, the pregame show at Jackson Square will be returned home via LiveU bonded cellular and moments from the Convention Center throughout the week were transmitted through IP workflows.
It's very similar to how we've managed these types of events in the past, so these technologies have worked well, says Suarez-Meyers. They're a great tool for us and it's become part of our day-to-day workflow.
In addition to covering the festivities and merriment, the network will also pay their respects to the recent terrorist attack that occurred on Bourbon Street in the early morning hours of New Year's Day. August 2025 also marks the 20-year anniversary of the impact of Hurricane Katrina. From the onset, the team was already going to discuss the effect of the attack on the local community, but in the midst of celebration, the network will take this as an opportunity to showcase the city's unrelenting hope and tenacity in the face of adversity.
Our news division has a few packages around both events, but we want to focus on how this city continues to get back up after being knocked down, says Duro. We'll highlight the Latino community moving back into the city over the last 20 years and the impact that has had. I think it gives our pregame a good mix of speaking about the reality that s happening here as well as focusing on the music, food, and celebration that's going around the game.
