As the sports broadcast industry becomes more experienced with IP-based workflows, it's becoming clearer the power this infrstructure has to centralized and simply complex video and audio transmission footprints.

FOX Sports has built a SMPTE 2110-based system that it calls BRISK (Broadcast Remote IP Studio Kit), a highly tactical flypack design, consisting of four FAA-certified pallets with full-height equipment racks that fold in half for efficient transport in aircraft cargo holds. Engineered for rapid deployment, the remote data center can be fully operational on-site within six to eight hours, allowing FOX Sports to connect field resources to central hubs in Pico and Tempe for seamless, distributed production of major sporting events.

By leveraging this technology, FOX Sports can centralize resource-heavy tasks like graphics and replays while maintaining a minimal physical footprint at the venue, which significantly reduces costs and on-site complexity. Looking forward to the 2026 World Cup, the team plans to scale this operation with six kits deployed across various global venues to bring world-class coverage to the United States.
