Major docufest is accepting requests for accreditation and registrations

This is the 26th edition of the International Amsterdam Documentary Festival (IDFA), which was created in 1988 to promote the most ground-breaking, creative documentaries made in the world, The festival is now considered one of the most important events of this kind. Participants must seek accreditation online. The deadline is October 10th. Registrations for the official selection will be accepted until August 1st. The festival takes place November 20th to December 1st.

Producers may enter documentaries concluded after April 1st 2013. The deadline is August 1st. Two hundred and fifty docs will be selected to be screened throughout the 12 days of the festival. Each year winners are selected in six categories: Feature-Length Documentary, Mid-Length Documentary, Short documentary, First Appearance, Student Film, and Dutch Documentary. There are, however, several non-competitive sidebars.

Accredited attendees may go to screenings of all films selected for the main programme and have access to a variety of passes: to Docs For Sale , November 22 to 29 (it is a big market where more than 250 sales agents, distributors and festival curators meet to watch a selection of the latest and best world releases); to the IDFA Forum, November 25 to 27 (where about 50 independent producers and directors have an opportunity to present their projects to exhibitors, co-producers, distributors, film funds representatives and sales agents); and to the IDFAcademy (for the duration of the festival), which is geared towards young filmmakers, with workshops and training sessions.

IDFA offers discounts at selected hotels for reservations made before October 14.
