Ross Video Introduces the Furio Robo VR600PT Robotic Head at NAB 2013 Friday, April 5, 2013 [Iroquois, Ontario, Canada] Ross Video's Robotics Division unveils the Furio Robo VR600PT Robotic Head, specifically designed for broadcasters using Ross' existing track based system for any combination Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) or Real Set applications without being hampered by low payloads.

Designed to fit on, but not limited to the patented Furio Dolly and Telescopic Lift, the VR600 technology allows Ross Robotics to merge popular features like the expected high payload from Ross' Cambot family of robotic heads, with the demand of extreme precision, high repeatability and signature travelling shots of our Furio track based system.

In the past broadcasters had to sacrifice payload for artistic flexibility while using the Furio system on a track, said Marcel Fontaine, Ross Robotics Business Development, Ross Video. A best of breed solution was found in the lineage of Ross' Robotics platforms: Cambot and Furio. After several months of dedicated research and development the VR600 robotic head is ready for the demands of a constantly evolving worldwide robotics market.

The 70lb (30Kg) payload of the VR600 makes it a versatile and perfect fit for any type of production environment. The robotic camera head can be paired and installed on ceiling mounts, static tripods, legacy pedestals, Furio dolly and telescopic lift systems. Standard features of the VR600 include an IP based platform, digital lens interfaces, SmartShell Control, integrated encoders and tracking output for Virtual Sets and Augmented Reality. The VR600 supports Prompters up to 17 inches, and offers direct digital lens control, black burst and tri level reference input.

Starting at just under $30,000 USD, the VR600 deserves the attention of any budget conscious customer. Whatever current or future production demands may be, the VR600 can manage the load without breaking the bank, or a sweat.
