IABM Training Academy - Bridging the Skills Gap with New Partners

IABM Training Academy has signed partnership agreements with two leading training providers to introduce a range of wider technology and non-technical courses to its extensive educational portfolio. Expanding upon the success of its popular specialist broadcast engineering and manufacturing courses, IABM Training will partner with both Zoom Training and RealCom Broadcast to boost its current programme.

The partnership with Zoom, finalised in August, will see IABM offer key soft skills based training for the first time. The well-established training company specialises in a unique range of courses covering areas such as coaching, presenting and selling.

We are very excited to be partnering with a company like Zoom, it has a wealth of experience in teaching soft skills to organisations around the globe and is at the cutting edge of training delivery. Zoom use accelerated learning as the basis for all of their courses which makes a significant difference in the quality of learning and the enjoyment of participants. Anyone looking at the IABM training calendar for technology courses will now also have the opportunity to develop their non-technical skills, said Steve Warner, Training Manager, IABM.

The second partnership will see IABM Training link up with RealCom to offer two further specialist technology courses, An Introduction to Satellite Broadcast and Digital Television . A total of 14 extra course dates have already been added to the 2014 training calendar, with the new topics commencing in the autumn programme.

RealCom offer a number of short technical courses that perfectly fit with our training model, the two new subjects in the areas of satellite and digital television will undoubtably complement our current programme. There are several mutual benefits to the partnership, as RealCom can bring their training to a wider audience by choosing IABM Training, and they will introduce our training programme to their network, Warner continued.

Three further partnerships are in the pipeline which will take IABM Training's course curriculum to a global audience. Relationships are being developed with key providers in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, further details will be announced during the coming weeks.

Hundreds of people from across the industry have attended the renowned IABM training courses since the academy was launched in 2011, gaining valuable knowledge and skills that are essential in the rapidly changing global media business. During the last two years, the academy has delivered a number of successful training modules around the world, from South Africa to Singapore, and Germany to the UK.

Warner concluded: The courses were created to address the massive skills shortage in the broadcast manufacturing sector and broadcast engineering in general. There are several key areas with significant knowledge gaps and training courses like ours are a vital step towards addressing the shortage.
