Erika Zade Brings Attitude to The Voice

Berklee student Erika Zade describes her own vocal sound as dark pop, with overtones of soul. But when she auditioned for the current season of NBC's The Voice, another quality caught judge Kelly Clarkson's attention.

After listening to Zade's rendition of Dua Lipa's New Rules, Clarkson chose Zade for her team, praising the attitude in Zade's vocals. Since then, Zade has worked with Clarkson and her fellow team members to hone her skills for the show's current battle rounds.

A native of Miami, Zade cites Selena, the Dixie Chicks, and Fleetwood Mac among her musical influences. Her father, a classical guitarist, gave his daughter her first instrument, and sometimes took her with him to hear Cuban music in Miami. Zade's YouTube channel features covers and several of her original songs.
