The partnership between Google and Iron Mountain will make adopting Nearline a seamless experience for our customers. We are working with Google technical team to develop an on-ramp to the cloud via an offline ingestion service. Crafted with our dedication to data, logistics and security in mind, the Iron Mountain program offers companies with massive amounts of data and limited network connectivity the opportunity to simply send your disks to our secure locations, where they'll be uploaded directly into the new Google Nearline platform.
How exactly does this process of uploading, or seeding, information work? Follow these three simple steps:
Save your data to hard drives or LTFS tapes. Ship them to us through your preferred courier service.
Iron Mountain data migration experts will upload your data to the Google Cloud using secure, high speed infrastructure, with every step following our chain of custody.
Finally, we can send the storage media back to you, store it within our offsite vault, or securely destroy it. The choice is up to you!
