Argosy Strengthens Commitment to Middle East Market with Opening of New Stock Facility posted: 04/10/2019
Infrastructure Specialist relocates Dubai office to extend support services and shorten product lead times for its growing Middle East customer base
Argosy, a leading international supplier of broadcast cables and infrastructure products, has announced that it has relocated its Dubai office to the city's Oudmetha area in order to hold more stock and deliver faster and more efficient services to its Middle East customers. The larger facility enables Argosy to locally stock higher volumes of its expanding product portfolio, such as racking and mains distribution units, video audio and data cabling, connectors and patching, SMPTE and fibre assembly equipment, along with KVM and network switches.
We're very positive about the growth potential of the Middle East market, said Chris Smeeton, director at Argosy. Countries like Oman, Bahrain and Lebanon have seen a recent growth in the sports sector meaning more stadia and arenas have been built for boxing, football and tennis tournaments. This in turn has increased the need to produce local content so we are positioning ourselves to be able to deliver orders quickly and provide immediate assistance for such projects through our new regional office in Dubai.
Headed by regional sales manager Raziullah Baig and supported by Argosys sales, technical and logistics teams back at its UK-based HQ, the new Dubai office brings relevant and critical stock back into the region, offering Argosy clients reduced lead times and a facility to supply to ongoing projects where specific products may be urgently required.
The beauty of holding more stock in the region is that our clients can begin their projects earlier, starting with the readily-available products we stock in Dubai whilst the rest of their order ships from the UK, explained Baig.
As the Middle East moves towards 4K, Argosys new partnerships with Mellanox Technologies, Canare, Allied Telesis, BarnFind, kvm-tec and other world class suppliers, will prove indispensable to the region's content producers and broadcasters as they implement their 4K technology upgrades.
On top of its cable and infrastructure lines, Argosy also offers a range of active hardware, from intelligent power supplies to managed switches for high-capacity IP or 12G SDI.
The Canare range of 4K Ultra HD SDI cables, connectors and patch panels were shown for the first time at IBC2019, as were the Allied Telesis range of expandable, stackable, automated ethernet switches that provide the deterministic control media installations require.
Another newcomer to the Argosy catalogue is Mellanox Technologies. Its SN2010 switch, for example, is an ideal top of rack (ToR) solution for hyperconverged and storage deployments. Packed with 18 ports of 10/25GbE and 4 splittable ports of 40/100GbE, the SN2010 can deliver up to 1.7Tb/s aggregate throughput. Mellanox's leading IP-based technologies enrich the video experience and bring the audience and content closer together.
For versatile fibre transport, Argosy supplies Barnfind's range of fibre adaptors which allow designers to quickly create complex infrastructures - enabling data streams such as lighting control to be routed alongside audio and video.
To declutter control desks and make post houses more productive, the low-latency, 4K-ready keyboard/video/mouse technology from kvm-tec delivers high availability convenience.
