A message from the HPA Board of Directors

During these unprecedented times and circumstances, the Board of Directors of the Hollywood Professional Association wants to acknowledge our community and all they are doing to help reconfigure an industry. We are encouraged by the collaboration and cooperation we are seeing in companies that are in the trenches.

For the duration of the worldwide Covid-19 virus that threatens the health and economy of our professional media community, it is incumbent upon us to do everything possible to help enable social distancing while creating the best work environment possible. This is a unique opportunity for all companies to share data, in favor of helping the industry transition into a new era of television- and film-making workflows.

The spirit of community is no more evident than in the case of the vendors providing cloud based collaboration tools (including but not limited to remote editing, color correction, dailies, etc.). Their willingness to cooperate with flexible licensing and interoperability, technical support, and their orientation towards continuity that enables software to be run in a cloud infrastructure, represents everything we know our industry to be: tenacious, creative, and collaborative. The HPA will continue to work with our member companies and volunteers to bring educational and informational resources to do everything possible to help our industry enable remote collaboration and information.

We wish everyone good health and look forward to the end of this crisis. In the meanwhile, we welcome any insights and ideas you would like to share with us about how you are working through this time.
