Nineteen Berklee alumni and one faculty member have received Latin Grammy nominations for performing, songwriting, production, engineering, and mixing across several categories, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Latin Jazz/Jazz Album, and Producer of the Year.

The Latin Recording Academy will honor the achievements of Latin music and its creators at the 25th annual Latin Grammy Awards on Thursday, November 14, from the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. The three-hour telecast of the 2024 Latin Grammy Awards will be produced by TelevisaUnivision and will air live on Univision, Galavisi n, and ViX on Thursday, November 14, at 8:00 p.m.

Miguel Zen n '98, who returns as the Ken Pullig Visiting Scholar in Jazz Studies this academic year at the college, was nominated for his eighth Latin Grammy in the category of Best Latin Jazz/Jazz Album for El Arte Del Bolero, Vol. 2, a collaboration with Berklee faculty member Luis Perdomo. Internationally renowned Dominican musician and singer Juan Luis Guerra '82 '09H, who studied jazz composition at Berklee, is up for five awards at this year's ceremony, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Producer of the Year.

Latin Grammy winner Cristina Abaroa PD '91 received her fourth consecutive nomination in the Best Latin Childrens Album category, for producing A Cantar! by Danilo & Chapis, a group she founded.

Colombian singer-songwriter Nicolle Horbath BM '22 received two nominations this year, in the categories of Best New Artist and Best Singer-Songwriter Album, for her debut EP, De Magia Imperfecta, which explores themes of love, family, gratitude, and loss. In 2018, Horbath was awarded the Prodigy Scholarship from the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation. She recently performed with Colombian superstar Juanes on NPR's Tiny Desk concert, in celebration of Latin Music Month.
