Marquis Announces Avid Certification for Workspace Tools

Marquis Broadcast has announced that its Workspace Tools products are now Avid certified, delivering Avid's seal of approval for the company's powerful disaster recovery, backup and business continuity solutions. Marquis is already an Avid Certified Alliance Partner with its Project Parking software, which enables Avid project media to be archived, moved/parked or deleted as required. Now, with Avid certification for Workspace Tools, Marquis has demonstrated how its products operate seamlessly within the Avid environment, providing customers with absolute confidence in a world-class disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.

Workspace Tools from Marquis comprising Workspace Backup and Workspace Sync supports large scale, backup and sync applications. Workspace Backup is a powerful disaster recovery and business continuity solution, designed specifically to protect Avid shared storage and Avid NEXIS systems. It uses detailed analytics of Avid workspaces to ensure the highest levels of integrity of the backup, ensuring the most crucial projects can be immediately and individually recovered to production in any location that can see the backup. Now with native cloud support, all work in progress can be secured in cloud infrastructure, meaning the cloud can become the main repository for project files and media. Simple navigation tools allow Avid Media Composer editors to visualise and navigate into any version, project or bin in the backup, whether in cloud or tier two storage.

Workspace Sync provides a higher level of protection, intelligently syncing workspaces perhaps every 30 minutes to Avid shared storage or Avid NEXIS. This is ideal for intensive, fast turnaround, hard delivery deadline productions, such as nationwide talent shows, ensuring the maximum loss of work in progress is only 30 minutes.

Already Avid-certified, Marquis Broadcast's Project Parking tool is the industry gold-standard for Avid storage management analytics and project portability, providing project analytics, visualisation, management and archiving. All three Avid-certified products Project Parking, Workspace Sync and Workspace Backup work seamlessly together; using Project Parking analytics will prevent duplicate and orphaned media propagating into the Workspace Sync or Backup, saving significant amounts of storage whilst also accelerating time-critical sync backup and recovery processes. In addition, new Delta Parking versioning capabilities enable Avid projects that are held in offline storage to be both version-able and distributable between local and remote Media Composer editors. Since only the changes are written back, huge network transfer and storage efficiencies can be realised, making remote productions practical even at the highest of resolutions.
