JVC adopta On-Air over IP como leitmotiv JVC adopted "on-air over IP" as a slogan for the 2016 NAB, demonstrating complete solutions for mobile production news, study, production of contents and also new robotic PTZ cameras, telling with simultaneous capacity for integrated recording and distribution of live video.
Taking full advantage of the new IP environments, JVC It has pledged in NAB 2016 to move the IP production experience in the Studio practically to any place. Thanks to the IP connectivity, JVC cameras behave like any other video source connected to the production control room mixer, no matter where in the world they are located. The company adopted "on-air over IP" as a slogan for the 2016 NAB, demonstrating complete solutions for mobile production news, study, production of contents and also new robotic PTZ cameras, telling with simultaneous capacity for integrated recording and distribution of live video.
ENG and broadcast
In 2012, JVC bet strong on mobile news production with the launch of its GY HM650 ProHD Camera IP-based.
In the past four years, JVC has constantly improved the reliability of the system of streaming with the inclusion of systems of error correction FEC (Forward Error Correction), repeat request (ARQ, for its acronym in English) automatic and adaptive control of the bit rate. Working together with Zixi, JVC has added a mode of high reliability that can now support data of more than 40% packet loss. All of this combined with the improvements in wireless networks, the technology of JVC is now regarded as a solid alternative to dedicated microwave links.
NAB 2016, JVC introduced various improvements in its IP camera systems, which consist of improving communications on the ground for reporters and the expansion of mobile apps more apart from the ENG. One of these improvements is the first system of audio return IFB (Interruptible Fold Back) integrated in a camera that exists in the market. Incorporated into the new GY-HM660 ProHD Camera, that comes to replace the GY-HM650 innovative, allows the director or presenter of news communicate directly with the operator on the camera or reporter. In addition to ENG applications, the IFB system facilitates communication with the camera operators, all in a fully wireless multi-camera production environment.
In Las Vegas, JVC demonstrated a system of this type in collaboration with NewTek, a multi-camera wireless, ideal for mobile production solution. It is a first step in the direction of prioritizing the production at home, using the power of a workflow based on IP. Taking live pictures with multiple cameras making today requires a mobile production unit and also move a full team to the site where the news or event occurs. JVC solution only requires camera operators equipped with IP cameras that are displaced to the place. Each camera records images using universal memory card in the camera, at the same time transmitting live images back to the headquarters of the TV station using a 3G network / 4G. The camera operators communicate with the director of the program using the new IFB audio return channel.
To overcome the congestion present occasionally on WiFi and LTE networks, JVC has developed a series of solutions based on private networks that provide reliable wireless communications at the same time extending the scope of a traditional network. An example of this is the use of radios point to point Ubiquiti Networks integrated with the new camera GY-HM660 and also other models of this range of JVC IP video.
For more extensive coverage areas, private video JVC MESH network combines the MIMO technology with JVC cameras Silvus, providing an ideal system for the most demanding productions on the ground, such as sporting events or parades. The network is based on the use of mobile nodes of the MESH network, which are in fact Silvus transceivers that act as transmitters and receivers. The network behaves as a self-managed system and with ability to restore that adopts the best routing decisions automatically, and two-way communication through the network allows cameras without operator can be controlled and lines of POSSIBLES are from remote locations.
Another novelty presented JVC at NAB last is the first robotic PTZ camera of the brand: KY-PZ100, which is ideal for applications in Studio or in the field. When you connect to a Wi-Fi adapter / LTE USB modem (or directly connected to a LAN), generates an IP streaming of up to 1080 p/60 with 2 channels of audio using the SMPTE 2022 error correction protocol. It can be used as an autonomous remote camera, forming part of a multi-camera production or as a conventional PTZ camera controlled through a simple Web browser, a standard protocol-compatible remote control unit or also using the new remote control panel.
JVC RM-IP100
JVC has also presented a new camera system for study based on fiber-optic IP functionality, applied to its GY-HM890 ProHD Camera System. Designed and manufactured exclusively for JVC by MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems, this is a module that connects directly to the back of the camera through its 68-pin interface, transporting multiple bi-directional signals 3 G-SDI, as well as control protocols, signals audio, synchronization, and intercommunication between the camera and the FS-900 base station.
A base station supports up to 3 cameras, and its redundant power supplies provide the necessary power for each camera, the teleprompters and even support monitors. Its configuration three-in-one is a more cost-effective solution than other systems that require separate handlers for each camera. With its Ethernet Gigabit functionality and its low weight, the base station - which occupies only 2 RU - allows control and IP configuration, and users can also add the IP-over-SDI SMPTE 2022 functionality to accommodate a fully IP-based workflow.
