Six Berklee Alumni Win Emmy Awards The recipients were recognized for their contributions to acclaimed programs Severance, The Studio, The Penguin, SNL50: The Anniversary Special, and Music by John Williams.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences presented six Berklee alumni with awards for their work in sound editing and sound mixing ahead of the 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which took place Sunday, September 14.

At the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, supervising sound editor George Haddad PD '93 and music editor Lorena Perez Batista '11 received Emmys in the category of Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) for their contributions to Apple TV 's acclaimed comedy The Studio. Sound effects editor Diego Perez BM '09 won his second Emmy in the category of Outstanding Sound Editing for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie or Special for his work on HBO Max's critically lauded series The Penguin. David Schwartz '74 was recognized with his second Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (One-Hour) as production mixer on the Apple TV Severance episode Cold Harbor, one of the buzziest moments on television so far this year.

Production mixer Ezra Matychak BM '01 received his second Emmy in the category of Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special for contributions to NBC's SNL50: The Anniversary Special. Sound effects editor Richard Gould BM '13 also took home his second Emmy in the category of Outstanding Sound Editing for a Nonfiction or Reality Program for his work on the Disney program Music by John Williams.

Overall, 27 Berklee alumni received Emmy nominations this year for their talents in mixing, editing, and composition on some of the industry's most prominent programs and events.
