Flock's Patch gets bigger - and smaller

Compact LT and larger XT Patch models extend app-controlled analogue patchbay concept

The entry-level Patch LT.

Flock Audio's original Patch was a 32-in, 32-out analogue patchbay, digitally controllable over USB via a Mac- or PC based application. That model has now expanded into a range, with the announcement of the more affordable 16-in, 16-out Patch LT (£$1499, shown above) and the 96-in, 96-out, top-of-the-range Patch XT (UK price expected to be around £9700US price expected to be around $10,000, shown below). Both new models have the same underlying philosophy as the original - signals passing through stay in the analogue domain with no A-D conversion. However, the graphical, app-based control of the matrix allows for swift and convenient creation of complex routings and multing combinations.

As with the 64-point Patch, 48V phantom power can be supplied (on 16 inputs on the Patch LT, 96 on the XT), and the XT offers the same two pairs of front-panel combi' quarter-inch jacks (although there's only a single pair on the LT) for connecting equipment quickly. All the other inputs to the three-strong range are on rear-panel D-sub connectors. The Patch LT is expected to ship in the summer, the XT before the end of the year.
