Berklee to Partner with Music Managers Forum-US for Boston Summit The inaugural event will provide a unique opportunity for artists and managers to connect with industry professionals.

Berklee's Music Business/Management Department will cohost the first Boston summit of the Music Managers Forum-US on Saturday, December 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Berk Recital Hall (1A), 1140 Boylston Street, Boston. The summit is a collaboration with the Music Managers Forum (MMF-US), a nonprofit trade association for music managers and self-managed artists.

The free, in-person event will offer a full day of seminars, panels, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities for industry veterans and newcomers, students, or music industry professionals in the world of artist management.

The morning will begin with a welcome and introduction from Tonya Butler, chair of the Music Business/Management Department; Sharon Tapper, executive director, MMF-US; and Wesley T. AHarrah, vice president of membership and education, MMF-US.

We are excited about putting artist managers, self-managed artists, industry influencers, and music organizations together in the same room, said Butler. We have visitors from throughout the region and from across the country coming to Berklee Boston to prove that you're never too green or too established to share and learn something new.

Industry professionals from the Recording Academy, Women in Music (WIM), the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP), Songwriters of North America (SONA), and other organizations will discuss topics ranging from managing one's music licensing portfolio to synchronization and how to make money in this highly competitive area of the industry.

The summit will also feature a fireside chat between Mark Kates of Fenway Recordings and Ralph Jaccodine, professor of music business at Berklee and the founder of Ralph Jaccodine Management. In addition, the forum will include A Manager Master Class, a panel moderated by Nicole Barsalona, president of Women in Music and leader of Everyday Rebellion Artist Management. The panel also features Jeremiah Ice Younossi, A List Agency; Katie Lorenz, Good Harbor Music; Jessica K. Martin, Marionette Management; and Kristina Latino, Corner Escape Artist Management. They will discuss all aspects of the business, from starting out to growing and sustaining long-term careers.
