cinecAward 04: ARRI/ZEI Master Anamorphic Lenses Honored at cinec 04

OBERKOCHEN/Germany, 26.09.2014.

Known widely for uncompromising cinemascope and precise color rendition, the ARRI/ZEISS Master Anamorphic lenses were honored at the 2014 cinec show in Munich on September 22. The Cinec statuette was presented by the Society of CineTechnik Bayern e.V. for trendsetting products and developments in motion picture technology and by Ilse Aigner, Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs, Media, Energy and Technology, as well as Deputy Minister President.

The ARRI/ZEISS Master Anamorphics are a range of seven high-performance prime lenses. For the first time, a perfect combination of compact size, minimal weight, very high speed and exceptional optical design with minimal distortion has been achieved in a set of anamorphics. Projects recently shot with the Master Anamorphics include a Ford commercial campaign (Directed by Kurt Mattila, DP Keith Dunkerley), SPECTRAL (Directed by Nic Mathiew, DP Bojan Bozelli) and A MOST VIOLENT YEAR (Directed by JC Chandor, DP Bradford Young).

The ARRI/ZEISS Master Anamorphics were honored for their exceptional optical design and striking cinematic imagery.

In accepting the award, Matthias Pesch, Technical Lead for Optical Systems stated: The Master Anamorphics will open up new creative possibilities to cinematographers and we are excited to see the beautiful images coming from the first productions using these lenses.

Together with our partner ARRI, we defined the specifications and developed the lenses incorporating the latest knowledge.
