Arkona Adds Native Integration With Bitfocus Buttons

Arkona technologies has announced native integration between its BLADE//runner AT300 platform and Bitfocus Buttons, the control system from Bitfocus. The arkona module (v1.0.0) is available now in Bitfocus Buttons v1.8.2 and later and supports working templates for both SMPTE ST 2110 and SDI applications. By connecting directly with the AT300 BLADE//runner, the integration lets users perform BLADE//runner functions from a physical interface.

The module supports internal blade routing and external routing to third-party devices. It can autodiscover sources and destinations, which can then autopopulate the buttons or be selected by the user. Routing options range from a straightforward SDI input-to-output route to breakaway routing of SDI audio inputs into an audio shuffler.

The integration also monitors blade status. Users can see where inputs and outputs are locked, connected, or routed, along with hardware information including PTP lock status, power supply voltage, CPU usage, and uptime. Multiple blades can be connected to Buttons, with status displayed and the ability to identify and reboot each one.

Arkona and Bitfocus developed BLADE//runner-specific configurations and preset templates at the Bitfocus control level, including preconfigured collections for common workflows so operators can start without extensive manual configuration. Users can also configure and save their own workflow presets.

Bitfocus says the platform now operates as a full Broadcast Control System following new capabilities for tally, timelines, and virtual routing, and supports more than 850 connections.
