Je Snchez Bargos New Country Director of ales Espaa

Jess Snchez Bargos, a 51-year-old native of Madrid, married with two daughters, has been appointed Country Director of Thales Espaa. He had hitherto occupied the position of CEO in this organisation.

He replaces Alberto Parrondo, who has assumed the Vice Presidency of the Business Line of ICS, Integrated Communication and Supervision Systems, an activity integrated into the Transport Division of the Thales Group established in Paris (France).

Snchez Bargos has an ICAI Higher Engineering degree from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas. Over a professional trajectory of more than 25 years he has occupied different positions and performed a variety of functions in numerous companies, mainly focusing on the area of Transport and Security.

Snchez Bargos joined Empresarios Agrupados in 1987 as a Design Engineer. He later started his professional career in Transport in the Railway Division of Abengoa. In 1990 he joined SEL Sealizacin; in the year 2000 he became Domestic Market Director of the Transport Automation Division of Alcatel Espaa; and from 2002 to 2005 he also assumed commercial responsibility for the International Market and in 2005 was appointed General Manager of the Transport Automation Division of Alcatel Espaa.

In 2007, with the integration of the Railway Signalling activities at Thales, Snchez Bargos was appointed CEO of Thales Rail Signalling Solutions until 2009, when he was appointed Managing Director of the Security Solutions and Services Division of Thales Espaa, and President and CEO of Thales Transport, Signalling and Security Solutions, today Thales Espaa.

Principal achievements while heading the Transport Division:

High-speed network in Spain, with a presence in both Signalling and Communications throughout the network in service.

First worldwide applications of the ERTMS system in high-density networks: Mexico; also the first application of the ERTMS system in America and in Madrid's Commuter Rail service.

Important thrust to the internationalisation of the Railway Transport activity, with a highly relevant presence in Turkey, Mexico, Morocco and Algeria.

Managing international markets such as Turkey, Mexico, Egypt, USA, Australia, Brazil, etc.

Worldwide Competence Centre in Railway Signalling.
