Kayley takes the helm to share her Burning Man adventure:

So, I'm not really sure where to start or even begin to describe Burning Man, it's completely insane in the very best way.

For those of you that dont know, Burning Man is a week-long annual experiment held in Nevadas Black Rock Desert where the attendees dedicate themselves to the spirit of a very unique community. The event is created entirely by its participants who all commit themselves to a culture of self-reliance. Whatever you take in must be taken out with you including grey water, rubbish, everything! Its 100% leave no trace.

Burning Man is a gifting community, free from commercial sponsorships, trading and advertising, so you dont need to take any money. Sometimes gifting is mistaken for trading but this isnt the case. When youre in the city everything is completely free the only thing you have to buy inside is ice and everyone will do whatever they can to make sure that you have the best time ever!

I went out there with a camp of 108 people and, sticking to our roots, we built a cockney boozer, called The Queen Dick, right in the middle of the desert. There was a pool table, a dart board, cold draft beer and full band (including a piano). We were based at 9.30 & K and like all British boozers we had a bunch of regulars. The cold beer was our gift to the community and in the end we managed to go through 35 kegs of it! Weve been asked to apply as a theme camp next year, so everythings been put into storage and, hopefully, well be returning to the same spot.

The city itself is made up of hundreds of art installations, moving art cars, bars, stages and crazy workshops. They even have the actual Thunderdome from one of the Mad Max movies! The list of things to do there is seemingly never-ending. During the day there are quite often sandstorms and theres small tornados everywhere, but at night it can get pretty cold. The place is quite a spectacle, the city is lit up in neon as far as the eye can see and theres a LOT of fire!

One night we went to a secret art car party which was awesome. Basically, all of the art cars drove out deep into the playa, probably around an hour walk away from the main site, and they had a huge party. If felt like you were a kid who was witnessing all of your toys coming to life, its a really surreal, wonderful thing thats kind of difficult to explain!

I dont think words can really do this place justice, you just have to go and see it for yourself. I will definitely be heading back out there!
