
The NFL and StatusPRO, a sports entertainment and technology company that combines AI and performance data with emerging technology to create experiential content, announces an expansion of their partnership, granting StatusPRO new rights that enable the company to build a device-agnostic training product.
The expanded agreement also includes the renewal of StatusPRO's NFL gaming license, continuing the evolution of NFL PRO ERA.
The newly secured rights align with StatusPRO's vision of building a unified platform spanning training and gaming, with the potential to expand into media experiences. Powered by AI and telemetry data from sports leagues, the platform delivers simulated content that enables fans, athletes, and coaches to play, watch, and learn the game, deepening engagement across the sports ecosystem.
StatusPRO continues to demonstrate how emerging technology can bring new and seasoned fans closer to the game, says Ed Kiang, Vice President of Video Gaming at the NFL. This expanded partnership will strengthen fandom through immersive gameplay and enhance football education by augmenting the way youth and elite athletes train.
Since its debut in 2022, NFL PRO ERA has become one of the best-selling sports VR titles of all time, amassing a community of over 1.7 million users, establishing StatusPRO as a leader in immersive entertainment.
The PRO ERA Visualizer was integrated into ESPN's NFL LIVE in 2024, delivering immersive on-field analysis of NFL plays through virtual reality. The program was subsequently nominated for the George Wensel Technical Achievement Award for technical innovation in sports television production.
In 2025, StatusPRO also piloted training programs with select NFL and NCAA teams and athletes, validating the company's ability to apply its data, VR technology, and XR expertise.
