Nice Touch launches V2 of its AI edit assistant for professional editors

Built by two editors with twelve years in the industry, V2 takes on the mechanical work at the front of an edit: selects, stringouts, assemblies, multicam passes, cutdowns and more, across 18 languages, inside Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
Nice Touch today launched V2 of its AI edit assistant for professional video post-production teams. V2 is a full rebuild, shaped by more than 300 conversations with editors, producers, production supervisors and studio owners, and it is available now at nicetouch.app.
Nice Touch analyses a project's footage, transcribes it with word-level accuracy and speaker separation, and then takes direction in plain language. Editors ask for the cut they need and it builds it straight into their timeline as real, editable clips, cuts and markers, ready to keep working with.
Twelve years of doing the job Nice Touch was founded by Matthew Cooksey and Paul Simon, who spent twelve years building Circus Street's video production operation into a business of around 200 people, making TV and VFX grade content for Coca-Cola, Nike, Nestl and Pfizer. Cooksey built a £0.5m virtual studio and delivered 60 hours of content in 20 languages to more than half a million viewers. Circus Street was acquired by QA for £50m.
Working at that scale meant building what didn't exist. Version control for video, such as virtual production systems or scripts for jobs no software covered. Across Avid, Final Cut, Premiere and Resolve, every generation of tooling changed how the work got done and none of them touched the part that hurt most.
The part nobody fixed A drive of footage lands, always more than expected. Before a single creative decision gets made, someone has to watch all of it, pull the selects, sync the multicam and lay up an assembly. It is a full day of work on most projects and it is where they get stuck.
The team ran more than 300 conversations with editors, producers and studio owners before building anything. Two things came back consistently. Existing AI tools meant leaving the edit, running a process somewhere else, and importing the result back in. And there was a line editors did not want crossed. One editor of 30 years who had avoided AI tools entirely said what won him over was that Nice Touch doesn't touch the creative calls.
Every project wants something different The other finding was that there is no single deliverable editors want. Depending on the project and the corner of the trade, the ask is a stringout, a set of selects, an assembly, a supercut, a cutdown, soundbites or a paper edit, each with its own precise expectation attached. V2 is built for that range rather than for one fixed output. Editors can ask it to:
Pull the selects and build a stringout
Strip out the double takes, the dead air and the chatter
Find the best takes and stitch clean ones together
Cut to a script, matching takes line by line
Lay up an assembly to start the edit from
Run a multicam pass across their angles
Build a supercut of a moment that keeps repeating
Pull soundbites and cutdowns for social
Get a paper edit before touching the timeline
From there the editor keeps directing it: change the length, swap a take, tighten a section, try it another way. Every creative decision stays with the person making it.
What is new in V2 It builds in your software. V2 works with Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, putting real clips, cuts and markers straight onto the editor's timeline.
An edit engine that understands the material. Interviews, podcasts, panels, pieces to camera and multi-speaker sessions each behave differently. V2 reads the kind of content it has been given and the kind of edit being asked for, and treats them accordingly.
Multicam that holds up. V2 works from the original multicam, so angles stay in sync the whole way through, across every version and revision.
18 languages. Analysis and transcription run across 18 languages, so international projects go through the same way everything else does.
A conversation, not a black box. Editors direct it in plain language, see what it plans to do, and push back before it commits anything.
Availability and pricing Nice Touch V2 is available now at nicetouch.app. A free five-day trial includes 2,000 credits with all features unlocked. Paid plans are £50 a month for 7,000 credits (Pro) and £250 a month for 40,000 credits (Ultra), with optional pay-as-you-go top-ups. Plans are priced in GBP, USD and EUR.
Nice Touch is already in use by editorial teams including Podymos and the University of Georgia School of Social Work.
We didn't want to build another AI tool that editors had to fight with. What kept coming up in those 300 conversations was that the AI needed to feel like it was working alongside the editor, not around them. We have spent our whole careers doing this job, so we knew exactly which part of it we wanted to give back. - Matthew Cooksey, CEO and Co-Founder, Nice Touch
For twelve years, whenever we hit something the tools couldn't do, we built it ourselves. This is the same instinct, with better technology behind it. - Paul Simon, CPO and Co-Founder, Nice Touch
